This recap is not two days late, why do you ask?
This week's challenge was to make a street chic look, inspired by looks found around NYC. Halfway through, the designers returned to the workroom to find mannequins wearing five losing looks. They then had to choose one of those looks to remake... Which they did not know, when they were choosing, would later mean that they had to work with the designer whose look they chose.
Since this was the last week before the final three (or four) designers were selected to go on and make a collection, the judges talked to all five of the remaining designers.
Amanda, street chic look:

I really don't care for this, but the judges LOVED it. Like, the all caps isn't strong enough for how much they loved this. It's... well constructed, I guess? I don't like the colors, I don't like the shape, and I don't think it's sexy (the judges thought it was) but whatever. Amanda went on, and that's all that matters.
Dress made from Fade's losing look:

The judges liked the shape of the leather, but weren't crazy about this lookoverall. The guest judge didn't like the yellow lines, but that was what Amanda had to work with, so *shrug*
Char, street chic look:

I can't really remember much of what the judges said about this, other than that I don't think they liked the pocket. I do know that they were uncertain about sending Char on or not. I actually quite like this, and I was hoping that Char would make it.
Dress made from Korina's losing look:

This is all right, but no one liked that saggy part around the crotch area. Char picked Korina's look merely because it had the most fabric to use, and then when Korina came in and found out who she was going to have to work with, she pitched a fit and cried and left. They scrounged up Alexander to work with Char instead, bless him, and my extreme dislike of Korina only intensified. Oh, BTW, Korina can SUCK IT, because Char was in too!
Kini, street chic look:
When Kini was working on this, Tim said that it looked too much like something you could already go to a store and buy, so Kini kicked it up a notch. In the end, the judges thought he added too many notches, and cautioned him to edit himself more in the future. They liked the ruffles on the skirt, but thought he should have lost the pockets, and I agree. They were also thrilled with the coat, which was so well made that Kini had even lined the pockets.
Dress made from Mitchell's losing look:

This may be the most stunning thing that Kini has made all season, and it was the reworking of someone else's dress. The judges loved it, I love it, it's incredibly well made, it fits that model like a glove, and, as if there were ever any doubt, Kini was in. So very, very in. :D
Sean, street chic look:

I really hate this. I think it looks like a hospital gown that an escaped mental patient sliced up, but the judges thought it was the best thing Sean had made yet. I don't even know.
Outfit made from Sandhya's losing look:

When the designers came in and saw the losing outfits on the mannequins, everyone was trying to avoid getting stuck with Sandhya's look because 1. it was awful and 2. it was made for a child and therefore had less fabric. Sean ended up with it, and he did the best he could trying to make it better (this was supposed to be a look for a rock star), but there was just no helping this. The judges didn't like it, but they did appreciate what he tried to do, and he was in as well.
Emily, street chic look:

This is just awful, from start to finish. The judges kind of almost liked the body suit thing, but I don't, and no one liked the giant hoodie thing. Zac said she looked like a hobo, and he's not wrong.
Dress made from Samantha's losing look:

Emily didn't put very much thought or effort into this look, preferring to work on the other one, and it shows. This is just so blah. Emily is the one designer who didn't make it on, and won't be getting a home visit from Tim. I was all right with this decision.
