So I was in this lecture about the origins of the Hebrew Bible, (BTW Ari, if you read this, it's all extremely fascinating, maybe we could discuss it sometime? Well anyone who knows about it, not just Ari but I figured she'd know thw most...Anyways) and the guy lecturing us (who also happens to be the dean of the college) said "Jerimiah. Jerimiah was a prophet." And I turned to this girl next to me, Angela, and said "Jerimiah was a bullfrog" and she goes "What?"
Turns out she has never heard the first verse of Joy to the World. Like she knew it was a song, and she knew the chorus, but she didn't know that line. WTF? Who doesn't know that Jerimiah was a bullfrog? I sang that song in like fourth grade for a concert. (They edited out the bit about wine. Jerimiah does not have mighty fine wine with fourth graders. He has a mighty fine time though.)
I was as suprised that she didn't know what I was talking about as she was that someone was mumbling somthing to her about biblical prophets being amphibians. It was just one of those mutual "Huh?" moments.
