This is a twist on the Letter Meme. Instead of coming up with ten items for a certain letter, you come up with five song titles for a certain letter and explain why you picked them. If interested then leave a comment. I’ll give you a letter. You post this blurb in your journal along with your list.
I got D from
siriusly_sex so here goes:
1. Dysentary Gary by Blink 182. I really like this song, not least of all because it contains the lyric "Girls just suck/ I lost the war/ I hate you all/ Your mom's a whore/ Where's my dog?/ Cause girls are such a drag." It's just funny and heart-breaky and the part Mark sings makes me squee. And they call someone a weasel. Hee hee hee!
2. Donna from Hair. I heart Berger! And Julian, who played him in Castleton. And I love Hair in general, and I think the My Donna/Madonna thing is very clever. Plus, I like to pretend I'm a hippie. "Make love to her till the sky turns brown."
3. Daughters of Triton from The Little Mermaid because I had to put a song from TLM in here, you know I did. Also, it's how I know all Ariel's sisters' names, so it's good.
4. Down for the Count by Bowling for Soup. I really really REALLY like this song. It'a all a boxing metaphor... and the verse: "The message on the cell says she's waitin' on the call from me/ to tell her that I'm sorry/ I can come back if I crawl... But I got bad knees/ and I can't say that I'm sorry/ 'cept I'm sorry that I met you/ Now my guard's up and I'm fightin' dirty," just makes me happy in a vindictive sort of way. Also the guitar at the end... GAH
5. Don't Speak by No Doubt. It was the first song by No Doubt I ever heard, it was the reason I bought their cd, and it's still my favorite song by them. (Back when Gwen Stefani was ska and not... whatever the hell she is now. But still beautiful.)
That was fun!
