This post is about X-3.

There are therefore

I'm serious about this guys. If you haven't seen the movie, and you don't want to know what happens, don't read this. I think I talk about every major plot point here.

Ok, so here we go, and in no particuar order. I'm just typing out all the random thoughts I have about his movie, as I have them.

Why did they bother bringing Jean back at all if they were just going to kill her again? Couldn't they just have left her under the 5 billion tons of water?

Although, Wolverine killing her was really a good scene. But overall, the whole phoenix thing seemed utterly pointless. I hated it when I watched the cartoon, and I hated it in the movie.

But Jean and Scott are now dead, and I don't really care. I didn't ever really like them. At least notw Scott doesn't have to live without Jean, or vice-versa. They get to be together up there in Heaven with the professor. And Scott got what he wanted, which was Jean back, so actually that part of the plot was ok.

Speaking of the professor, JEAN/PHOENIX BLEW UP THE FUCKING PROFESSOR! That was just dumb.

Oh, and since when did Wolverine go soft? The whole Logan/Jean thing, from beginning to end, annoyed me. She loved Scott. And Logan's last words to her? "I love you?" Ummm, hun? You barely even knew her when you decided you were in love with her, and then she chose Scott, and then she died. I don't see the love there. The closest you ever got was when Mystique popped into your tent all Jean-ified. Logan, she's really and truly dead now, so go find a real woman.

And HOLY SHIT MYSTIQUE GOT CURED. Janeea and I were SO MAD. She's way too awesome to be cured. And Magneto = jerk. How dare he leave her, all alone and naked and hot? Ass.

Ah, but as they said, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Ok, so Magneto and Rogue got cured too. And the fact that Rogue lost her powers doesn't really bother me because movie!Rogue wanted to be normal more than anything else, so I think she was happier that way. Cartoon!Rogue, never. (But she ended up with Bobby, and he kicked Pyro's ass, and so I liked all that. Oh, and he turned all full-on ice-man! Yay!)

But Rogue was hardly even in the movie, and she didn't even get to fight at all, and I miss my cartoon flying Rogue. *Sigh*

But then at the end they sort of hinted that Magneto had some of his powers, or that they were coming back or something, so maybe the cure isn't permanent? Or maybe you can overcome it if you try hard enough? I don't know. Like that would be good for Magneto and Mystique, especially the latter, but not Rogue. I loved that last scene, but now I don't know what to think. God I love that and hate that!

Oh, and the Juggernaut. 1.He was British. WTF? 2.He got blown up, which was sad, cause I kind of liked this British incarnation. (He had a very cool accent.) 3.HE SAID "I'M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!" I almost died. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, go here: http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=15862

Beast was reading upside down! Squee! And they were in the danger room! And there was sort of a sentinel! All of that made my happy. I like when they do things that are just RIGHT, but I don't like it when people die. Even people I didn't really like.

And as for angel/archangel/whatever the hell his name is, he was barely even in the movie, and the only purpose he served was that his dad invented the cure because of him, but the whole theater clapped when he saved that old prick. And I loved him. I don't remember him from the cartoon, but that is unimportant. I WANT BEAUTIFUL ANGEL WINGS. God. He was such a small part, but he was so very nice to look at, and so sad. He cut his own wings off to please his father, but then he couldn't give them up permanantly. Because, really, who gives up wings?

So the long and short of it is, I simultaneously liked and disliked the movie. It left a lot open, (like the cure, and what exactly happened to Pyro and Scott and how do they deal woth Leech going to school?) and it was sad, and Logan was sort of a wuss and Mystique lost her powers and I just don't know. But Rogue is happier and the Xavier school went on, and Leech got to be a normal mutant, and Scott and Jean are happy now, and mutants are being understood, more or less, and it was well made and it was funny and there were in jokes and meh.

Maybe it'll grow on me.

ETA: HOLY FUCKING SHIT READ THIS! "A hidden scene has been tacked on to the film after the end credits have rolled. The scene depicts a man in a hospital bed awakening from a comatose state. The scene is the pay off to a sequence that is set up early in the film while Professor Xavier gives a lecture on the ethics on the misuse of mutant powers. Xavier shows the class a video of Dr. Moira MacTaggert explaining the condition of a comatose patient who was born without any conscious brain function. Xavier poses the question to the class "What if we were to use our powers to transfer the consciousness of a father of four children with terminal cancer into this man's body?" In the hidden scene, the man awakes from his comatose state and calls out to Dr. MacTaggert using Xavier's voice. Dr. MacTaggert replies, "Charles is that you?” thus alluding to the interpretation that Charles Xavier used his psychic powers to transfer his consciousness into the comatose man's body before the Phoenix destroyed him."

AND I FOUND A RECORDING OF IT ONLINE. THEY'RE NOT MAKING THAT UP. WHY DIDN'T WE STAY AFTER THE CREDITS?

I knew it's grow on me. :)
