Criss Angel: Mindfreak
May. 27th, 2006 03:02 pm"These stunts are extremely dangerous and should not be performed by anyone, anywhere, at any time."
Well if that's the case then it begs the question, WHY IS HE DOING THEM?
But I highly admire his illusion work. He is really very convincing. He just blows people away, and he's very very very good. I don't know quite how he levitates, even after I looked it up, but he has a DVD out that explains how to build the "gimmick" that he uses to pull it off.
See, when I was younger I liked magicians because I thought it was real, but now I like them for the quality of their illusions. If you watch a person perform, even though you know there has to be a trick, because you can't change the laws of physics, but you can't figure out how he/she does it, then he/she has acheived the ultimate goal. If you know how he/she's doing it, then he/she has failed.
I knew damn well he wasn't really levitating, because it's just not possible, but I had no clue how else he was doing it, and so I hovered on that line between believing he's supernatural and knowing that he's just a magician, and that is why he is awesome. He makes you almost believe, and there's nothing greater than that.
Also, David Blaine sucks. I'd compare them, but there's just no comparison.
