Megan's Summer Movie Opinions
May. 14th, 2008 12:12 pmAnd they are, of course, only my opinions. And you are, of course, free to disagree.
Movies I will be seeing even if I have to walk to Burlington to do it:
-Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Unless Indy bites it (INCREDIBLY unlikely), there's pretty much no way I will not like this movie.
Movies I really want to see, but there will be no walking to Burlington involved:
-Sex and the City. I really like the show, and even though I'm afraid of what might happen in it, I have to see the movie to find out what ultimately happens to them all. Does Charlotte get knocked up? Does Carrie get married? Inquiring minds want to know!
-Wanted. Angelina Jolie + James McAvoy + guns + explosions = SIGN ME UP. I love her, I love him, I love it when shot blows up good. ROCK.
-The Dark Knight. I'm going to have to give in, watch Batman Begins, and go see this. Because I love Heath Ledger, and I feel like supporting the movie that he essentially died for is the least I can do for him. Plus, I like Batman, and it's probably going to be really good.
Movies I could see, if someone wanted to go and I had nothing better to do:
-Iron Man. I hear it's good, and I like superhero movies.
-Get Smart. I know nothing about the original show, but I like Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, so who knows? It looks like it could be funny.
-Wall E. I don't really have a strong desire to see it, but it'll probably be really cute. And it's Pixar, and they're good at what they do. Also, I loved Ratatouille.
-Mamma Mia! I didn't even knoew they were making a movie out of this, but hey, I like musicals.
Movies I will not be seeing:
-Speed Racer. I don't know who decided it was a good idea to make a movie out of an old Japanese cartoon, but it's not.
-Prince Caspian. I really did not like The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I'll think re-read the books instead. I just bought The Horse and His Boy, in fact.
-You Don't Mess With the Zohan. And I'm not paying $8.00 to try.
-Kung Fu Panda. Though I'm not going to lie, my mother will probably get it from Netflix later, and I will probably watch it with her.
-The Incredible Hulk. Didn't they already make this movie? And didn't it suck major ass?
-Hellboy 2. Didn't see the first one, don't really want to see this one.
-The X-Files: I Want to Believe. As much as I like the X-Files, I haven't even watched it enough to appreciate a movie. And I didn't see the other X-Files movie either.
-The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Why, for the love of God, would you make a Mummy movie with a different actress playing Evie, and with the son grown up, but with Brendan Frasier looking no older? I really really REALLY like both Brendan Frasier and the three other movies from this franchise (yes, even The Scorpian King) but I just can't see this one.
Movies you could not pay me to see:
-The Love Guru. It just looks really bad.
-Step Brothers. Yet another Will Ferrell movie with the same stupid jokes that I will not be seeing. (Although I liked Talladaga Nights and Blades of Glory. God only knows why.)
-Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. I watched about five minutes of the first one on TV one day, and I almost threw up. Read the books, they're so much better. (I started the fourth one yesterday, in fact.)
Movies I am undecided about:
-The Happening. I never met an M. Night Shamalan movie I didn't like, but I'm also wary of being scared, and it looks scary. I still haven't seen Signs, either.
-Hancock. It's Will Smith in a superhero movie. I like Will Smith, I like superhero movies, but I haven't seen anything about this one that has made me go "OMG MUST SEE IT."

This is what I decided to do today rather than getting dressed. :)

Won't Die.
There's an entire Tv series of him as an old man telling tales of his youth...
He might lose an eye...
He also can't die because he's an Archaeologist...
And we're just that DAMN GOOD!

Date: 2008-05-15 01:55 am (UTC)Yeah, but it looks creepier than usual, and I think it's rated R. We could maybe give a shot regardless though.

Date: 2008-05-19 03:33 pm (UTC)I laughed really hard at your Zohan comment. And I agree. I thought we had all escaped Adam Sandler for good, but I guess not.
