Project Runway Liveblog time!!!

-The previews keep showing me all this bickering... I can't say I really care about that. Just shut up and sew.

-Layana, don't bite the hands that fed you. Daniel and Stanley have both given you lots of help, you don't need to put them down behind their backs.

-Field trip to Lord and Taylor! (I have almost not idea what Lord & Taylor is, btw. It's a place that sells clothes, probably in NYC. I've never heard of it outside of PR.)

-Richard is wearing his spiky hat again. I'm afraid he's going to put out someone's FACE with that thing.

-New teams! Stanley & Patricia (Stanley is NOT PLEASED), Daniel & Michelle, Samantha & Layana & Richard as a team of three. Layana is just THRILLED to work with Richard again, and vice versa, obviously.

-Samantha has apparently been shopping at Lord & Taylor since forever, so she feels she has an edge.

-Challenge: create ready to wear looks for spring 2013, inspired by the Lord & Taylor rose. (I didn't know Lord & Taylor had a rose...) The winning look will be sold at Lord & Taylor, and be featured online and in their store window. Retail price for each look has to be under $250 (GOOD LORD, who can afford that? I think $20 for a shirt or skirt is pushing it.)

-Each team has to make one look per person, and they each get about $75 to do so.

-Michelle and Daniel are going with shorts and a jacket; Michelle wants something with a layer you can take off when it's warm. I approve of this for spring.

-Patricia feels Stanley is too controlling, so instead of discussing things with him... she just nods along and agrees with everything. This is going to end poorly.

-Richard is blatantly ignoring Layana, and Layana doesn't care (as she keeps telling me). OMFG ARE WE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL? Grow up people!

-Daniel is trying to be more 'young' and 'daring'. I really hope that that doesn't blow up in his face because I love him.

-Mood has a dog!? Named Swatch? HOW FUCKING ADORABLE IS THAT?!

-Richard, I really don't feel like black is a spring color. Just FYI.

-Stanley admits that he's being kind of controlling. Patricia is still holding in her feelings, and there's going to be an explosion very soon. Meanwhile, the rest of the workroom is lurking behind their dummies, listening to them fight.

-Richard, GROW THE FUCK UP. It's kind of hilarious that he's refusing to talk to Layana, but it's also kind of annoying.

-Michelle doesn't like Daniel's choice of pink fabric. (She also apparently doesn't like pink at all, which means we can't be friends.) Daniel says "Michelle's energy is very negative toward my fabric." Oh Daniel, Michelle's energy is very negative toward EVERYTHING.

-Hallmarq can't be Richard's real last name... can it?

-Richard and Tim are concerned with the leather on Layana's dress, but she's going to stand by it.

-Layana says she doesn't like pink (in reference to Richard's dress) but hers is also pink... Maybe it doesn't count because it's a different shade? P.S. What does everyone have against pink?

-Richard's does look too much like another dress he did earlier in the season.

-Stanley is disagreeing with Tim (never a good idea) who thinks his look is not new or fresh.

-Tim says Michelle's vest is 'apocalyptic.' LOL. He loves her dress design though.

-Daniel, please, I'm BEGGING you, don't make the shorts pink too. The neon pink jacket is more than enough pink, and I (unlike everyone else, apparently) like pink!

-Daniel is crying over having to rip up his jacket to make a dress out of it (per the critique of Tim and Michelle) and for once I don't want to yell at someone for crying; I feel bad for him. To his credit though, he is sacrificing his jacket for the greater, hipper, good. I really hope him listening to Tim will work out well for him.

-Now he's arguing with Michelle about whether or not she specifically said his look had to sell to 21 year olds. They're both like, obsessively arguing over this really minor point. LET IT GO, BOTH OF YOU.

-It's official: Daniel is CRAZY and I love him. Possibly I love him even more now.

-Stanley actually likes what Patricia is doing, and even said he's learning draping from her. That's not where I expected this to go.

-Patricia is happy and proud to have done something simple. I'm happy for her.

-At this point (we'll see when we get to the finished looks) I like Layana's the best.

-Thank God, Daniel and Michelle have decided to move on. This is good, because I'm sick to death of bickering.

-Samantha's heart cutout is kind of... saggy.

-The models always have this look on their face when they're getting their hair done, like they're just barely concealing their contempt for the designers' ideas and the process as a whole. It amuses me.

-I appreciate that Layana was helping Samantha finish, and Michelle helped Daniel finish (even though she complained about it the entire time). This is how teams should work, damn it!

-Runway time!

-Zac is off somewhere again. Rachel Roy is filling in.

-Guest judge: Bonnie Brooks, president of Lord and Taylor. Now this judge actually makes sense!

-Patricia's makes me go: eh. Whatever, I have no strong feelings about it. The weak feelings I have about it, though, are not good. It is very spring-y, however.

-Stanley: It's so simple I want to cry. YAWN. I don't like it. Also, it's pink too, and no one gave him crap about it.

-Patricia and Stanley high fived. I'm glad they could work out their issues.

-Richard's is... nice, I guess. I mean, I don't hate it it, but I feel like he didn't try very hard, and it does look a lot like stuff he's done before.

-Samantha's is odd, and very short. It's definitely young and different though.

-Layana's is still kind of awesome. I think the black leather contrasts nicely and brings an edge to her flowy floral fabric. I would buy that dress.

-I like Daniel's. It's all one color, but not as boring as Stanley's, and it's definitely better than his jacket idea... though he's right that perhaps it could have been a little shorter. I also do get the Barbie vibe that people were mentioning, but that's partly because of his blonde model. Also, I happen to like Barbie, so I'm not opposed to that.

-Michelle abandoned her vest, and that was a good idea. I don't like the color of her dress, or well, anything else about it, but it could have been so much worse.

-I really don't know who's going to be in the bottom this week; there are no real disasters.

-Patricia and Stanley are in the middle, Michelle and Daniel are the winning team (YAY) and Samantha, Richard, and Layana are the losers (again.) Oh man, if looks could kill, Richard would have just murdered everyone.

-Michelle (correctly) says that her dress is the color of the insides of buds in the spring. I still don't like that color, but I understand where she's coming from. Also, I knew ditching the vest was a good idea, and so did Tim. Heidi lurves this dress.

-Nina loves the styling of Michelle's model. I.... don't, really.

-Daniel, bless him, thanks Michelle for 'kicking him in the pants' and making him go younger. Credit where credit is due! Nina likes the color, but agrees that it needs a little less conservative cut. Heidi thinks it's been done. They don't like it as much as they liked Michelle's but whatever, he's in the top, I'm happy.

-Heidi says Samantha's was too junior, which was kind of what she was going for. Rachel Roy (whoever she is) likes it, and says it's very new, which I agree with. Nina isn't thrilled, but appreciates the risk taking. Bonnie likes it, which I think will count for a lot.

-Heidi likes Richard's dress, but Nina is unimpressed, saying that he's shown them it before, and it's generic. Bonnie is confused by it, and Rachel doesn't like the styling.

-I WANT THE DRESS THAT LAYANA IS WEARING. Nina loves her leather detail, and the slit, but not the print; she says that it's old lady. They like the design, however, and I still like it. Heidi likes everything but the print. I don't actually have a problem with the print, but none of them had an issue with the leather, RICHARD.

-I think Richard should go home. His dress is boring and been done before and had the most problems. Also, I just plain don't like him. He surprises me though by saying Samantha should go home, even though he spent the whole episode refusing to talk to Layana.

-Michelle is the obvious winner. I don't like her dress, but they're all in love.

-Surprise, Michelle won. I'm happy for her, just because she's so happy.

-Layana is in. And... Samantha is out. SERIOUSLY?! Screw that, Samantha's was way better, and I agree with Layana that it was time (past time) for Richard to go home. I do hate what Samantha is wearing though. It's like a clown outfit that's gone through a paper shredder.

-Flash forward to show Michelle's dress in the Lord and Taylor window. Aww. Also, she was walking down the street arm in arm with Layana. I guess they'll stay friends?

-Next week: they're designing textiles inspired by the Guggenheim. Excellent.

Answer to last Thursday's song: Mermaid, by Train. I really like this song (for obvious reasons) and the lyrics and video are both fairly hilarious. Also, Ellen got this one right!

ETA: Pictures finally added. Sorry for the delay!

Hey there Delilah by the Plain White Ts! I finally got one! xD

Richard is wearing his spiky hat again. I'm afraid he's going to put out someone's FACE with that thing.
I find this hilarious. xD

Swatch is cute! I love the name. :3

Michelle's was definitely the most on trend for Spring 2013. Layana's was close to on trend- the leather and floral was, but the colors in the floral print weren't quite right.

In photos, Daniel's looks like a bad 'naughty nurse' get-up to me. I think it was a combination of the way the fabric photographs and the way he chose to style his model's hair...

Since Daniel was safe, I think Richard should have gone home. It has been done before. By tons of different designers. But it was still more fashionable than some of the other contestants.

Can you please tell me how Stanley and Patricia were not the losing team? One was completely boring and looked like it could have been made in less than 3 hours (that's being generous) and the other was just awful. Did one of them have immunity or something? Both were more deserving of being sent home than Richard or especially Samantha. Samantha's was totally cute and I wouldn't say junior, just not old lady, which is what everyone on the panel is now. If Zac had been there I think things would have gone down differently.

I didn't intend to sound so mean about the panel's ages. I still love Heidi (and sort of Nina, part of the time).

LOL 'naughty nurse'... You're not wrong about that. Possibly my undying love for Daniel has blinded me to some of his faults.

I don't, umm follow fashion (there are colors for each year? How do they decide that? Who gets to decide? How can we have trends, it's only March!) which is why my opinions on PR are fairly uninformed and mostly for the lulz. It's nice to have you weigh in though, since you seem to be much more on top of this stuff.

I don't think Stanley or Patricia had immunity (I don't even think they give out immunity any more) and as I also thought Stanley's was UNBEARABLY dull I don't know why they weren't in the bottom. And I don't think Samantha deserved to go home AT ALL. It was a weird-ass judging all around.
