Well, Ellen is an interesting character, actually, and it's intriguing to watch her journey through the affair. I'm just not sure that it needed to be in this book, because it kind of distracted from the issue at hand.
She also had apparently kept her good looks and figure even after having three kids, so there's that. Did I mention Benchley was a bit sexist?
