Does anyone know what has become of Erin Mansfield? She seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth, and I don't know why. *Is slightly worried, but figures she just probably missed Erin saying where she was going*

In other news, I wrote a new fic!

It's not very good, but I sort of like it.

All other opinions are welcome.

Fandom: Harry Potter.
Pairing: Remus/Sirius.
Rating: God. Who knows? Let's say PG.
Spoilers: Absolutely none.
Warnings: Slash. (Duh.)
Notes: This fic has no plot, point, or purpose. It simply is. Also, my parents told me as a child that if you stood too close to a window during a thunderstorm you could get electrocuted, and I believed them. Whether or not this is true is irrelevant. We’re going to pretend, for the sake of this story, that Remus’ parents told him the same thing and that he believes it.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything about this Fic, except Sirius' opinions which I foisted on him. I am not making any money from this, because if I was I'd sure as Hell have a paid Livejournal account.

Sirius looked out the window. The sun was just making a valiant effort to break free of the clouds that had been choking it all morning.

“Hey. Looks like it’ll turn out to be a nice afternoon,” he said to Remus, nodding at the window.

The words had barely left his mouth when an enormous rumble of thunder echoed through the air.

“Or not.” He laughed, and leaned on the windowsill to get a better view of the sky. Half of it was a pale gray, almost blue, and the other half was a distinctly menacing shade of slate. It seemed to Sirius that there was an epic battle raging high over their heads, and that the rain heavy clouds were going to win.

“Will you come away from that window? You could get electrocuted.”

“There isn’t any lightening, Moony, stop worrying.”

“There was thunder. That usually proceeds lightening. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it wasn’t there.” He looked at Sirius sternly over the top of his parchment. Sirius laughed at his “this is my serious face” look, and turned back to the window. He could just feel the beginnings of a storm wind against his skin and he loved the way the air smelled right before it rained. Overhead, the light gray patch of sky had admitted defeat, and the sun was nowhere to be seen.

It would have been such a simple thing to just walk away from the window and go sit on the bed with Remus. He’d probably even get a kiss for it. But Sirius couldn’t just leave the window, because there was too much left to see.

Sirius loved the weather. Whenever possible, he paused to stare at whatever was happening above his head. He had a mental picture stored away of just about every kind of weather, the sights and sounds and smells, but it was days like today that he liked the best.

Today was the kind of weather that was completely random and unpredictable. And Sirius liked it because it both reminded him of himself, and defied his family.

Raised in a house where his whole life had been perfectly planned out, from his birth on a Tuesday to his reserved place in the family crypt, he delighted in anything spontaneous. He could remember that one of the happiest days of his childhood was when it had absolutely poured on the night of his parents anniversary picnic, and there had been nothing they could do to make it stop.

Sirius liked weather because it was completely outside the control of his mother, and was therefore to be respected.

Of course, Sirius liked spontaneous and unpredictable things in general, and the weather was the very epitome of this. When Remus had told him that there were Muggles who devoted their lives to telling people whether or not it was going to rain next Friday, when really they had no solid idea if that was true, Sirius had laughed so hard he’d fallen off his chair and spilled ink all over the carpet.

In his rather loud opinion, not even Merlin himself could have said, with 100 percent accuracy, what the weather would be like even the next minute, much less the next day.

As the rain now pouring through what had looked like it might become a clear sky about five minutes ago proved.

Of course, there are some things that I like to be predictable... Sirius thought, as Remus cleared his throat, indicating his displeasure that Sirius was still at the window.

He liked how Remus, and the rest of his friends too, could be counted on to care about him and to behave in other fairly set ways. For example, James would always hex any Slytherin within 50 feet, Peter would never be able to tell a bowtruckle from a stick (eyes or no eyes) and Remus always got extremely horny right before the full moon. Sirius liked to be able to count on a few things in his life.

He looked out the window one last time, and then turned his back on the cold, wet wildness of nature, favoring instead the warm safety of a Moony inhabited bed.

Remus smiled when Sirius slid under the covers and promptly put down the letter he’d been writing.

“Seen enough?” he asked.

“Of the storm, yes. Of you, never.” Remus laughed, his beautiful soft laugh, same as it always was, and leaned in to kiss Sirius.

Just before he gave up thinking for feeling, Sirius promised himself that, no matter what, no matter how unpredictable the world got, no matter whether or not it rained next Friday, he and Remus would never change.

I know. I can't write a closing line to save my life. God I hate that last phrase.

Love you all!

Thank you!

I'm glad you thought it was cute and not stupid. I was afraid that its lack of plot would be annoying.
