Have just come to the startling realization that I like Neville. A lot. And I always have.

THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT AND YOU CARE, DON'T READ ANY FURTHER.*

Also, I know I know I KNOW that they can't make Goblet of Fire into a movie and not lose a TON of things, but honestly. They cut all the Weasleys,(who aren't in Hogwarts) the house elves, SPEW,(Ok I don't mind that one) and Rita being an animagus, which irritates me the most because that's such a little and yet such an important thing. I LOVE how Hermione gets the best of her after all she puts her through. It's like how in Prisoner of Azkaban they failed to mention who Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs were. (Besides misspelling Moony.) It would have taken like two seconds and made the movie make so much more sense.

And really, who cares if Hermione's dress is pink instead of blue? If we're going to be indiganat, let's focus on something like the fact that Winky isn't even in the movie. Cause she wasn't important or anything.

*Deep breaths*

I knew it would happen, but sheesh. "You half a beetle in your 'air" loses everything if that beetle isn't really Rita. (And won't all this matter in later movies? It's like editing out Peeves...It just doesn't make any sense, and he's like, necessary later on...)

Ok, I'm done ranting. And I still like Neville.

*And also, why haven't you? Shame!

I agree on many accounts. I mean, sure, maybe they can work either without or around some of those things, but fans are generally happier when the movie sticks to canon. At least, I am. And I was irked that her dress was pink. :-P

Spew I can quite happily live without, but I didn't realize they cut Rita-as-animagus. That really is unfortunate.

Canon = happy Megan.

It's ok that her dress color bothers you. Different things bother different people. For example, I refused to go see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because they made Eric blonde when in the book it says that he is HALF MEXICAN AND THEREFORE HAS DARK SKIN AND BLACK HAIR.

Picky, aren't we?

Hahahahaha!

I resigned myself to this movie being crappy as soon as I heard the director was American and they hadn't changed the screenwriter.

Here's what really made me mad: changing the head in the fire to the coals forming a face and talking.

And Moody's electric-tape eye. Did the run out of budget or something?

Grr.

Don't even get me started on the eye. ARGH! It's another thing that there is just NO REASON for.

But I'm going to go see it anyways. Why? Because I heart Rupert Grint, that's why.

*love*

Well sure he's cute but he does a terrible Ron. But that could be just the director/writer's faults.

You know what's sad? I never even considered how good his Ron is. Or Daniel's Harry. Or any of the other characters. Wow. I am a terrible fan. I guess I just like to see the books made visual. Blargh.

That's weird too, cause I HATE when people are out of character or poorly characterized in fics. Hmmm... I'm going to have to think about this some more.
