So... Prepare for some serious geekery.

Cartoon Network has started showing Inuyasha over from the beggining (again) which gave me the distinct pleasure of watching episode number three (again) last night.

The top five reasons I love this episode:

5. The end animation.
FINALLY I understand what the animation at the end of the early episodes is showing. Finally I know who the sad girl with the giant boomerang is. This makes me happy.

4. The original end theme.
I love the end theme from the first season. It's the prettiest Japanese song I know.

3. Kagome's bad aim. In the fist episodes, Kagome can't shoot worth a damn. Her arrows never hit where she wants them too. Last night, she almost hit Inuyahsa in the head.

2. The lack of angst. In these early episodes, there is no angst. You know why? Kagome and Inuyasha still hate each other (sort of). There's none of this "I love you, but I hate you, but I have to save your ass, but I hate you, so I'm going back to my time, but I'm not going to stay because I love you, but you love Kikio, but I'm her reincarnation, but for some reason she's walking around still, and I hate her, but I love you and you love her..." etc. You know why? Because there's NO KIKIO. NO KIKIO = NO ANGST.
I hate Kikio. Also, they don't yet know who Naraku is, so that angst isn't there.

1. Yura, the hair demon. How can you not love her? She kills people with HAIR. (And sometimes a sword. But mostly, HAIR.) She's the first demon I ever saw on the show (besides those freaky crows, but they didn't have names so they don't count) and it was in seeing her that I realized why this show was on Adult Swim. (See,
cleavageskirtage.) She licks her sword, in that super-sexy way. She had Inuyasha all tied up, ready to kill, but first she had to criticize him for having split ends. When he stuck his hand through her chest, she said "Why I never. A half-demon I just met, sticking his hand in my chest."  What's not to love?
Dear Whoever is Responsible for These Things,

Killing main characters off your shows, especially popular and (I might add) attractive main characters, makes me less, rather than more, inclined to ever watch it again. So kindly cease and desist.

Sincerely,
Megan
