Why do you dislike #11 so much?
Because Hermione is 1. Clearly so very in love with Ron that I can't see her with anyone else, and 2. Not interested in Ron's sister in that way. Sorry.

I don't actually know anyone who ships Moody/Tonks. I wish I did.
What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Harry wants Ginny back after he's been off Horcrux hunting all 7th year, and she reveals that while she still loves him, she also loves Luna. You know, sexually. Harry, who hasn't ever examined his feelings for Luna does so and finds that he can deal with having two girlfriends. And then there is sex. And eventually marriage.
What is your favorite episode for #1?
Oh, episode, were these supposed to be from tv shows? Oh well. My favorite Remus/Sirius book scene is probably the "brotherly" embrace. Though it's hard to pick just one, being as that is my OTP.
How long have you been following couple #6?
Hmmm... I wouldn't say I follow that one, necessarily, but I've been reading it since... Oh let's say senior year of high school. I didn't get into it right away, but it wasn't too long into my fanfic reading career that I discovered it.
What's the story with #8?
I told you not to ask. I read one story with all four of them, and it was extremely intriguing, so I looked for more. Sadly, they were all AWFUL, so I gave it up.
Which ship do you prefer: #2 or #4?
Definitely number four. Ron/Hermione is my canon OTP, and I actually prefer Harry/Ginny/Luna to straight up Harry/Ginny.

I pick Hermione/Ginny, because there are so many more interesting people you could pair those two up with. Also, I've never read a decent Hermione/Ginny (which doesn't mean that there aren't any, I just haven't found them), but I have read some very good Snape/Lupin fics. Furthermore, their relationship with each other is just more interesting than the one between Hermione and Ginny.
What interests you about #14?
It's now canon, even though it's been a fan theory for years, I think Lily is a fantastic character who could use more development, and the whole Lily/Snape/James dynamic has about a million unanswered questions. Did Lily ever love Snape as more than a friend? How much of James' hate of Snape is because he knew Lily first? How much of Snape's hate of James is because he tormented Snape, and how much is because he was after Lily? There's so much that could be done with those three.
When did you stop liking #7?
Oddly enough, when it became canon. Because it was so awkward and forced and Tonks became such a whiny woman incapable of happiness without her man. I've already ranted about Tonks' character in HBP and DH, and I don't feel like going into it again.
Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in theshow book?
Hell no. That one was just a random passing fancy, I wasn't really all that into it. In fact, I think I only ever read one Sirius/Lily story.
What's a song that reminds you of #5?
Don't have one. Sorry.
Which of these ships do you love the most?
Remus/Sirius. Did I even need to answer that? It was my first ship, I was reading OotP fic before I read the book because I liked Wolfstar so much, I've read the most Remus/Sirius fic by far, and it's the pairing I've written the most for. Hell, the end of my yearbook quote in high school is "Wolfstar Forever!"
Which do you dislike the most?
Snape/Harry. It's not that I don't see the appeal of it, it just isn't my thing. I'm pretty much not into teacher/student stuff. (Unless you count that one Remus/Bill one I read, but Remus wasn't ever actually Bill's teacher, and it was set during OotP, so I don't.)
If you could have any of these two pairings double-date, who would it be?
Remus/Sirius and James/Lily, obviously. Though I'd love to see Ron's face if he and Hermione went out with Harry and Ginny... And Luna. :) She's still his little sister, after all.
Have #2 kissed yet?
Yes. Several times, actually. Cause Ginny's awesome like that.
Did #4 have a happy ending?
YES. 100,000 times yes. They had the perfect happy ending, and it made me SO HAPPY.
What would make you start shipping #14?
A well written fic that explores their characters and all the issues with them and James that I mentioned before.

Well, Harry/Ginny did happen, so I'm going to have to go with the kinky threesome in heaven that is Remus/Sirius/James. Don't you worry, they'll invite Lily in eventually. Once she's had enough of watching.

And about 8 - I think it's interesting, and I also read a really good one, though I must admit it was mainly Remus/Sirius with James/Peter, but they were all still together, technically...? Anyway, I forgot where I read it, and this was before I started bookmarking, so I'm afraid I can't show you proof, but I do understand the appeal.

My biggest problem is when I (rarely) talk to people about shipping and they think I'm just out to make everyone in the book 'gay'. I want to yell at people because even if something isn't canon, critics have tried to unmask underlying sexual tension (gay, straight, or otherwise) in great works of literature for centuries. How is this any different? I have a whole mental list of books from school where this issue was addressed in class.

Date: 2008-01-31 01:29 pm (UTC)And oooh, good point about Moody/Tonks. That had not occured to me. I guess I didn't see it that way cause she's older, but you are right. I just have issues with teacher/student when the student in question is below 5th or 6th year.
Peter is usually 1. sleeping or 2. off with his girlfriend. No joke. You'd be surprised how often Peter has a convenient girlfriend in another house who's bed he sleep in while the other three get it on.
Yay for that part of DH! I LOVE that part. :) And I agree. There's nothing I don't think Ginny capable of.
