He became president after the death of Warren G. Harding, who had more sexual and political scandals than you could possibly understand. He refused to terminate the members of the Harding administration who were involved in them. His cabinet included Herbert Hoover, whose poor economic policies exacerbated the Great Depression. He showed no remorse toward flood victims or farmers.

If it WERE white, I wouldn't be able to see it. It's the conditional tense. You don't know anything about grammar.
