I haven't been to too many places outside the US; the only other countries I've visited are Canada and China. I have been to a lot of different states, however, and driven/traveled through even more. Some highlights of the places I've been include New York City, Chicago, Nebraska, The Great Wall, and Disney World!

-Shit is gonna get real here now, because we're down to the top four and this is the last elimination before The Finale (aka Fashion Week).

-They're at an airfield discussing flying monkeys and harpies. And now, here's Dave Salmoni with a cockatoo. Dave then informs us that cockatoos like to be snuggled. Who knew?

-There are various birds being brought out: umbrella cockatoo, blue throated macaw, Chilean flamingo, silver cheeked hornbill, and egyptian vulture. They have to pick one of these and do a human-bird hybrid look.

-Laura says birds are hard to do, because you can't sculpt the feathers. I believe her.

-Laura picks the cockatoo, Tate the vulture, Roy the macaw, and Miranda the hornbill. The poor flamingo gets no love. :(

-Dave then goes around telling them fun facts about the birds, like that the macaw bites really hard and the vulture's eyes can spot prey from super far off.

-Roy wants his character to be a government experiment, Laura's going for an older, balding/molting bird (since cockatoos can live to be very old), Miranda is struggling already, and Tate is super in love with his vulture, (which he's feeding raw meat to with his bare hands) and which is now hitting him in the head with its wing. He plans to incorporate the hooked bill and feathered crest around its head.

-Tate is doing a big piece, which he plans to use real turkey feathers in later. I am 100% behind this.

-Miranda wants to manage her time better this week, and I certainly hope she does. Her design worries me because it doesn't look very much like the hornbill.

-Tate has now decided that his look is too big and too much work to finish on time. I deeply do not want him to go home, so I hope he sorts this out.

-Westmore time! Miranda's seeking redemption, Tate is planning a movable mouth (which Michael gives him tips on achieving), Roy's feathers look pretty cool, but his design looks just like a macaw top on human legs, and Laura is told to make sure she uses some color in hers, even though cockatoos are primarily white.

-Laura is also feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work she's got ahead of her, and I really hope that she too can pull it together.

-Roy has done a ton of work making a feather pattern on his clay mold, and I hope it's worth it.

-Miranda has gotten caught up on her facial sculpt again, and is trying (unsuccessfully) to pry herself away from it so she doesn't end up wicked behind like she did last episode.

-Oh no! Roy's mold just tipped the fuck over and broke. One wing is hanging off the table edge sadly, and Roy is pretty convinced he just lost... But he's powering through, because what else can he do? And now Tate is helping him, because God bless Tate.

-Roy is pretty sure he can salvage his, and Miranda made it into the mold room, so things are looking up!

-Tate is vacuforming shit to make his beak move, Roy can't open his mold, and ironically, Laura and Tate are both helping him (remember when Roy wanted no one to help each other any more? Yeah.)

-Aaaaand Miranda is super behind again, though somehow not as far behind as she was last week.

-Roy's looks like a plucked chicken at this point, lol.

-Laura's feet came out of their mold all right, and she's thrilled.

-Tate is having to stuff the head of his look with pantyhose, because I guess the model's head is smaller than the mannequin's and it doesn't quite fit right. This means the beak probably isn't going to move after all.

-Miranda's look does indeed have a big crest like the hornbill, Roy's still looks more like a chicken than a macaw, and Tate's may or may not have blood on it; it is a vulture after all.

-Roy says he's going into last looks on "a wing and a prayer." Oy.

-God I love Laura, She always seems to have her shit together.

-Tate is having airbrush problems, which I feel like has happened before, and Miranda is asking her model to help paint himself, which has DEFINITELY happened before.

-Miranda has done a really excellent head sculpt, and all the work she put into the detail of it clearly shows, but the overall look doesn't wow me.

-Roy's looks very amateur to me, the shape of the beak isn't right, the head doesn't mesh together well with the rest of the look, and the wings are very stiff and rubbery looking. But at least the chicken resemblance is gone.

-Tate's is creepy and gross and pretty perfect for a vulture.

-Laura's looks a little bloated, but the feet are cool and I do get the 'old man' vibe. I'm not crazy about the fluffy body suit he's wearing, but whatever, she didn't make that part.

-During closer looks the judges don't like Miranda's hands or all grey paint, nor do they like Roy's paint job or seams. They do like the paint on Tate's, however, as well as his feather placement. And of course, they like Laura's. :D

-Laura's cockatoo bird model is cuddling her, appropriately enough. Hattirck says she's captured the essence of the human bird hybrid idea, Ve likes the colors, and Neville had problems with it until she said it was supposed to be molting.

-Ve likes Miranda's sculpt (how could you not) but Hattrick doesn't like her monotone paint job and Neville isn't crazy about the stuck on arm feathers.

-Neville compliments the amount of work in Tate's, Hattrick likes the feather placement, and Ve says it's muddy but likes it overall.

-Hattrick likes the ambition behind Roy's, Ve doesn't like the paint but likes the amount of work in it, and Neville likes the eyes. They didn't have as much bad to say about it as I (and Roy) anticipated.

-The judges seem to really like Laura and all her choices (yay!), admire Miranda's sculpture but are disappointed with the lack of overall work put into her look, like the anatomy and paint colors of Tate's, and are impressed by the amount of work in Roy's... but don't think he's the best sculptor ever. Clearly this is a hard choice, because we've narrowed it down at this point to four really excellent and very talented people.

-The winner this week is Tate! Woo! How can you not love Tate, honestly. Laura is also going on to the finale (double woo)!

-This leaves us with Roy, who had issues this week, and Miranda, who may have played it too safe. The last spot in the finale goes to: Roy. This surprises me, since the judges usually seem to like Miranda's stuff better, but I think the amount of work he put into his look this time beat out the minimal (but quite nice) stuff that Miranda did.

-Roy is super excited about this (as he should be) and Miranda is losing graciously. She's really grown on me this season, and I hope she goes on to great things.

-Season finale next week! I'm seeing ballerinas? I think?

ETA: Pictures added!

Answer to last Tuesday's song: The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, by Leonard Nimoy. If you haven't seen this, you totally need to. No one guessed this.
