Thursday, never looking back
Nov. 9th, 2013 10:22 pmSo, we saw Thor: The Dark World.
-I liked everyone and everything in this movie, except the end. It just ended, and I had so many questions! What happened to all the warriors and Heimdall, given that they had committed treason? (This was partially answered in the post-credits scene, but still). Why didn't the Kursed dude let Loki out of his cell? Did Loki totally take over for Odin, or was it just in that one scene? And if so, isn't Odin going to wonder where the hell Thor is? Is Thor mortal now, or is he still going to live thousands of years, just on Earth? Can we make a movie just of Thor hilariously adapting to life on Earth? Please?
-Why did they bother trying to set up the Sif/Thor thing, with all the significant camera shots of her, if they weren't going to delve into it or resolve it at all? This is probably the biggest gripe I have with this movie.
-I knew that Loki wasn't dead; you can't kill him that easily. He was amazing, and I'm so glad he didn't actually betray Thor. :D
-Darcy is amazing, and should be around all the time.
-How many times is Selvig going to save the world before he gets some recognition?
-The scene with Loki as Captain America was 100% the best part of the movie.
-There were more than a few Star Wars parallels, including some re-used sound effects. Right down to awkward love scenes in front of lakes with men in ponchos.
-Was that library the same one in Indiana Jones, or am I crazy? Anyway, I'm glad a movie destroyed a city other than NYC for once. ;)
-In conclusion, cell phones save lives. And universes.
Non-spoiler: If you go see it, there are two credits scenes. One happens towards the beginning of the credits, and the second is at the bitter end. I recommend staying for both.
Answer to last Saturday's song: There Are Worse Things I Could Do, from Grease.
becofoz got this one right!
