Things the world definitely doesn't need: A new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, with CGI turtles, and a dark brunette April. Who thought this was a good idea? (Don't answer that, I can guess.) Oh, and a white Shredder too. That's possibly the worst part.

UGH! Don't get me started. I mean Shredder's outfit looks cool and all but I didn't know he would be white. That's kinda lame. Not to mention their origin too is COMPLETELY different and that's just stupid.

William Fichtner is playing Shredder (he's been a villain is pretty much everything EVER) and I guess it's a totally different origin story and none of the characters are Japanese... Because God knows that what we need nowadays are more white characters and fewer Asian ones in our movies.

The more I think about this the angrier I get, actually. Ninja is still in the title, Ninjas are Japanese, yet none of the characters are. WTF?

Wuuuuut. I knew about this before... but I think I convienently forgot about it. It's worse than I remember uuuugh. I loved TMNT when I was a kid. T_T

Yeah, I think I had heard that they were planning a reboot, but I blocked it out because NO. I really loved the TMNT cartoon when I was a kid too (my brother always wanted me to play April, and I always wanted to play Raphael) and I even like the newer animated movie. But this is just nonsense, not least of all because of the lack of Japanese characters (as I rated about above).

I was all about playing turtles on the playground. Don was my fave at the time, so I usually got to play him. xD
The lack of Japanese characters is the thing that bothers me most I think. I hate whitewashing. -_-

Right? I mean fine, if you're going to change their whole backstory go with that, but you can't keep the ninja and lose the Japanese.

I will admit to knowing very little about TMNT but I have seen bits of the earlier movie and thought it looked pretty mediocre and everyone on my Facebook feed who actually knows about this kind of thing seems to be reacting exactly the same as you. I think I'll be giving this one a miss.

Yeah, I'm definitely not seeing it. I have been considering re-watching all the old movies though.
