Final Face Off recap before the finale! Do you think my prediction for top three (Dina, Cig, and Drew) came true?

This week's challenge was to pick out a newspaper headline describing a giant creature destroying a city/landmark, and then make that creature. No one picked "Taj Terrorized by Pterodactyl," much to my sadness. I sooooo would have been here for a pterodactyl makeup.

Here they all are with their papers:

Anyway, on to the looks!

Dina, "Mantis Preys on Paris"

Dina, bless her and her cake decorating skills, was the winner, the first person chosen to move on to the final three, and one of the only people on Face Off to ever successfully hide the model's eye holes. The judges were extremely impressed with this, as they usually are with Dina, and even though I thought she might could have done more with the mantis concept (this is pretty much just a literal giant mantis) it's really well done and the leaf dress is perfect and she's in the finale and YAY DINA!

Cig, "Yeti Crab Crushes Kremlin"

Cig really embraced the 'yeti' in 'yeti crab' and went with a very simian face. Mr. Westmore urged him to make it more crab-like, and so he added the long antennae things on his head. This was a good decision, as the judges quite liked this look, and Cig moved on to the final three as well. I like the crab hands on this, and am really impressed at the amount of work Cig managed to get done in such a short time.

Drew, "Giant Sloth Slashes Shanghai"

I was pretty unimpressed with this. Drew realized that he didn't have enough time to do hair work over the whole look, and so he went with a half burned sloth, but I'm not sure how well that reads without the explanation. He was also trying to make the sloth scary-looking, but I'm not afraid of that pale, lumpy head. It's like a potato with claws, and I don't know why the judges liked the face, but they did. They also liked the claws, but weren't thrilled with the burn makeup either.

George, "Deadly Squid Destroys Dubai"

George had issues. He had a lot of trouble making the stomach mouth part, and spend a lot of time on that and the paint job, which is why the rest of it looks so rushed and half-done. The judges really liked the shape of the head, and they weren't even opposed to the stomach mouth, but they thought the colors were a little too cartoony. And, obviously, it's not quite as well put together as everyone else's. On the other hand, they thought that George had done a good look for this particular challenge, because this looked like something that an actor would have actually worn in an old low budget monster movie. (I don't think that George did that on purpose, but he didn't tell the judges that.)

So who was the last man in the top three? For a few moments I thought they judges were going to send them both on, because they didn't hate either look, but that didn't happen. In the end, George was sent home, and Drew went on, just as I had predicted. Even though I wasn't thrilled with Drew's look, it was much better done and much less of a hot mess than George's, and I agreed with their final decision.
