This is me, sitting in my living room, freezing, feeling...odd, and not wanting to go pick up the pink room, because then I'll have to remember that Andrew was here last night, and now he's gone. :(

(Sidebar: if you aren't going to want to hear about how crazy I am about Andrew, you'd do well to stop reading this journal for the foreseeable future. He makes me so happy, and I'm going to talk about it.)

Anyways, in lieu of doing something useful, I'm going to babble!

I love baseball. It's pretty much the only sport I can both stand to watch, and know what's going on. The only sport I really play is bowling, but I used to play softball. Not that I was any good at it.

Anyways, my team is the Boston Red Sox, and (assuming Mom can get tickets) we usually go to a game every summer. Fenway park is one of the most amazing (expensive) places I know. And seeing baseball live is a million times more exciting than watching it on tv. Though on tv, I do like being able to watch plays over and over, and actually see what the players look like.

My family is a big baseball family. I played softball, my brother plays baseball, my parents were even on a co-ed team a couple summers ago. Mom screens all my boyfriends to make sure they like the Red Sox (or at least don't like the Yankees). And Andrew is a Red Sox fan too. Heh. You thought you'd gotten away from him. :)

My mom is the biggest fan. Dad kind of doesn't care. Eric is a big fan too, but he also likes other sports. Mom gets it from her grandmother, who was also a huge Red Sox fan, and she's passed it on to me, and I will pass it on to my kids. When the Red Sox won the World Series for the first time in 86 years, I thought Mom was going to have a heart attack and die, she was so excited. There was leaping.

My favorite Red Sox player is Dustin Pedroia, but Trot Nixon owns my heart. Andrew likes Mike Lowell best, and Dad keeps telling me that Jacoby Ellsbury is the greatest player in the history of the game. Oh dear, this is turning into Red Sox babble, isn't it? Erm...

I really do like baseball as a sport. It doesn't have very complicated rules, it's easy to watch and follow, it's not usually violent (though it's kind of exciting when they fight) and I like listening to the announcers prattle on. My cat, in fact, is named Remy after Jerry Remy, the announcer for the Red Sox. It's a good sport. I kind of wish I still played, though I didn't much like fielding. Mainly because I can't catch. But I liked hitting. I should learn to pitch, then I wouldn't have to field. Or I could be the DH. Do they have DH's in softball? Fuck it, I don't want to play softball. I wanna play baseball. Just because I have a vagina doesn't mean I can't hit a normal sized ball. Sheesh.

Anyways, that's enough babble for now. Though I must conclude by saying that the Red Sox just beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1.

Thank you!

It was fun to babble about baseball. Sometimes I think people don't realize how much I really do like it.

I am so glad Andrew makes you happy. If he makes you half as happy as Jake makes me, then I would never not want to hear about it, becuase your happiness is my happiness. That was all poorly put, but you know what I mean. I miss you, and Montana would be way cooler if you were here.
