So. The Grammys. The fashion was pretty underwhelming, both the good and the bad. Plus, I didn't know who half the people there were. But anywho, let's take a look at some of the outfits worn by some of the people I did recognize.

Warning: SO MANY pictures under the cut. So many.

These are in no particular order. All pictures came from The Fug Girls (www.gofugyourself.com) an excellent fashion site that you should all totally check out.

Alicia Keys:

I actually quite like this. The Fug Girls said it's too tight, but I think she's rocking it. It's also a beautiful color, and the only thing I don't like is her hair.

Why was Anna Faris at the Grammys? The world may never know.

I hate peplums, all the time, in any way, but otherwise this one is good too. Pretty, but simple.

Stevie Nicks:

No idea why she was there either, but I mostly like this. Except for the gloves.

Cyndi Lauper:

The Fug Girls said that this "feels so right" and I have to agree. I mean, clearly Cyndi wasn't going to wear something boring or normal, and yet this isn't totally wacky. It's very her, even though it's black, and I like everything except her hair. (Why does everyone this awards season have such bad hair?) It actually looks all right in this picture, strangely enough, but still sort of like she ran out of time to do it and just randomly stuck bobby pins in it until enough of it was off her neck to satisfy her.

Kelly Osbourne:

I've never understood her hair color, but this dress is fabulous and she looks great in it.

Ariana Grande:

I like this, but I'm not sure why Ariana keeps being made to dress like a 12 year old. She's 19 (soon to be 20) and I know she plays a younger character on TV, but seriously. Buy the girl some age-appropriate clothes.

Ciara:

I almost know who Ciara is, but this dress is so wonderful and she was so amazing in the interview they did with her on the red carpet that I wanted to share it with all of you. Shiny, great color, looks good with the baby bump. A+

And then there's Ashanti:

I didn't actually see her on TV, but how could I pass this one up? WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE? Are those angels kissing? Kissing her navel? With glitter and super shortness and super lowness and actually kind of cute shoes? I'm just confused. I wish I had seen this in motion on camera. It looks like it might actually flutter.

Anna Kendrick:

I want to like this, since it and she are both very pretty, but I'm worried that the skirt slit is going to meet the bodice slit in the middle and the dress is going to fall right off her. Maybe that's why it has that cage on the top of it: to hold it together. Her hair, however, is very nice.

Kacey Musgraves:

I didn't know who she was before the Grammys, but I do now! I really hate this dress, even though it's pink and sparkly, typically two things that I like. It's just so wispy and blah... I don't know, it rubs me the wrong way. And on TV it looked like it was the exact same color as her skin, which didn't help.

But then, she went and performed in this:

Which is a whooooooole different level of ugly. It's also SUPER short, and looks more than a little like a lampshade. But she won two Grammys, so I guess her music is better than her fashion. Also, these:

I REQUIRE A PAIR OF LIGHT-UP COWBOY BOOTS, POST-HASTE. Or any kind of light-up boots, really.

Sara Bareilles:

Both her hair and her dress look like they got in a fight with a lawnmower and lost, as my mother would say. At least her performance was better than the last time I saw her on TV. And I do like the shoes.

Pink:

I love Pink, and I have to disagree with the Fug Girls on this one. They don't like this dress, but I do. I thinks she looks great in red, and somehow she's rocking both the tailored boob cups that I usually hate and the giant V on the front. I often think Pink looks awkward or uncomfortable in her red carpet dresses, but she looks like she actually might not mind wearing this one.

Gloria Estefan:

I like this dress too, though I'd like it more without that lace part on top. Plus, did you guys know that Gloria Estefan released an album in 2013? Me neither!

Rita Ora:

I didn't like this when I saw it on TV, but it's grown on me the more I look at it. Possibly because she's so damn adorable. It also somehow manages to be shiny without being overwhelming, and the color is intriguing. Plus, how cute is her hair?

Paula Patton:

Bad taste in men, worse taste in fashion.

Katy Perry:

I don't love this, but I don't hate it either, and I do kind of love the idea of wearing something with music on it to the Grammys; that's totally something I would do if I were ever invited. I think I would like it more if it weren't, like Kacey's dress, that pale pink/peach color that's so close to her skin tone. I don't like her hair either, though it least it looks like she got it done somewhere.

Taylor Swift:

Y'all ready for this? I love Taylor Swift, and I am not ashamed. HATERS TO THE LEFT. Also, she may have had the best dress of the night, even if she didn't win anything. She looks so pretty and TALL and age-appropriate and SPARKLY, and her hair is WONDERFUL and I love her and I love her music. So there. :P

Beyonce:

When I first saw this, I was like, "Oh, honey, no." In pictures, it's even worse. It looks almost passable from the side, but then you see the front...

You have to move, sit, and stand PERFECTLY at all times in a dress like that in order to preserve what little modesty you have left after wearing a dress like that, and that's just way more work than any dress ought to be. Beyonce, you already work hard enough most of the time, just wear something pretty. And we know you're hot, you don't have to keep proving it to us by appearing as close to naked as possible as often as possible. Also, your hair color bothers me.

Madonna:

I don't even know. I don't have anything to say about this, or Madonna, except that her performance was extremely subpar. She's 55, and I don't think anyone would blame her at this point if she took some time off from performing to like, work behind the scenes and/or raise her kids for a while.

And finally:

They're not wrong.

I love your fashion posts, ehehehe. x3

I saw a few of these dresses, but not most of them.

I love Taylor Swift's dress (and her, which is saying something because for the most part I'm not really into country!). She's so pretty. :3

I have no idea what is going on with Beyonce's dress there. If it wasn't see through, I might like it? I amost liked it from the side, but then I saw it from the front and it just looks awkwardly uncomfortable? o_O' Awkwardly uncomfortable does not equal sexy.

I wish Katy Perry's dress was a different colour. I almost love it, but there isn't enough colour for the dress to pop.

I feel like Paula Patton has GOT dire wolves on her dress, which just makes me lol. xD

I love Rita Ora's dress! I just wish the neckline was a little different somehow because I feel like it needs a bit more interest. But the fabric is so fun. xD

I actually love both of Kacey Musgraves dresses (though the long dress would look better if it was a bit further away from her skin tone).

What is Ashanti's dress? o_o Before you said it had angels all I saw was a giant spider face. xD

Kelly Osborne's hair looks so much like one of my BJD's wigs. xD

Pharrell's Arby hat is amazing lol. xD

Yay! Just want for the Oscars, that's when people pull out all the stops. :P

I agree about Beyonce. I want to like it, but I'm just so afraid about... seeing things. It really doesn't need to be made of mesh.

I totally see the spider face now! It's like a Rorschach test of a dress.

I too think I would like Katy Perry's more if it were a different color. Also, I'm not sure why I dislike her hair so much, but it just makes me angry.

OH HOLY CRAP ASHANTI!!!!! Whoa, that is...unfortunate.

I like Alicia Keys' dress. I loved both the dress Taylor wore during the ceremony & the one she wore performing.

Beyonce looked a mess, I don't care what the ~experts~ say, her dress was cheap & tacky and her hair was worse.

I love the skirt on Katy Perry's dress, but not the top. I also wonder if it would be better if it were black with white musical notes; more predictable, yes, but it'd hide the issues at the top.

I didn't realize until this post how many women showed up with fug hair.

There were so many randoms there: Anna Faris, Jeremy Renner, Julia Roberts, Steve Coogan...I guess I can kind of understand Anna Kendrick because of "Cups"...the rest just seemed to be there to pimp their Oscar-nominated movies (and 'meh' CBS sitcom) which seemed so weird IMO.

Your quote under Paula Patton's pic made me snort coffee.

The "middle school formal" look Ariana Grande keeps wearing needs to STOP...she's a cute girl (though it will always weird me out when she doesn't have her Nickelodeon red velvet cupcake hair) and her 'team' could dress her in much more age-appropriate things. Those panty hose she's wearing look like the hose grandma's & nurses wear.

Pharrell's hat was EVERYTHING omg. The Arby's tweets made it even funnier.

There was SOMEONE I remember seeing who I thought looked super-good, but now I can't remember who it was :(

Also, IMO Kacey Musgraves' hideous fashion is a reflection of her PITCH BLACK SOUL. I met her a meet & greet before she hit it big, back when she was playing free shows in clubs, and she was snobby, entitled, rude, etc etc etc. I've read bits of interviews since she's had hits & she comes across as very unlikeable. Plus, judging by her reactions at the Country Music Awards, she's a veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy sore loser.

Yeah, I always literally wonder what people are thinking when they choose dresses like that. Like, at least with Beyonce I can kind of see why she went with that, but Ashanti... Just no.

I actually really enjoyed Taylor's incongruous headbanging in her performance dress too, lol.

I liked the bottom of Katy's dress more than the top too! And I forgot to mention the ugliness of Ariana's nylons. Maybe she was hiding some bruise or something?

I honestly did not know who Kacey Musgraves was until the Grammys, but that sucks to hear that she was awful in real life. :( Now I won't feel so bad when I mug her and steal her boots.

Also, RE: Beyonce's dress...the designer did an interview yesterday talking about how tiny she is and all the pics accompanying the article showed the other side of the dress. I was so distracted by the glimpse of the side of her nude bra (I would've thought she had strategically-placed tap/nipple covers) & a weird seam down the side (I understand there needs to be seams, but it was SO PROMINENT on the other side, like a last minute job or like it was sewn up by...well, someone who sews the way I do lol).

Taylor's performance seemed a little...off. With the headbanging (someone on YouTube took the clip of her performance and added the sound of karate kicks making contact each time she throws her had around) and the look on her face at the end...I didn't understand what was going on. Was she pissed? Sad? Annoyed? She was getting a standing "O"! I didn't understand it. She sang before her categories came up, so she couldn't have been upset by not winning. She's normally so good & polished, it just seemed...slightly bizarre IMO.
