So, we (three girls and a gay, gay boy) went to Hooters the other night, and we were talking about how it's the objectification of women and all that, and I thought being the feminist that I think I am, this should bother me.

Then I realized that it doesn't, simply because Hooters is very open and honest about exactly what they are. I mean, if you apply for a job there, you know that you're going to be making money off people oogling your goodies (to borrow a phrase). I mean, the signs on the walls are all about boobs and the pictures are all of scantily clad busty women. Their motto is "Delightly tacky, yet unrefined." They're not pretending, they're not trying to hide it, and they're definately not being subtle.

Not that that makes objectification of women in broader terms of society and culture ok, but meh. It's just Hooters. And it was fun. It's not like they're hookers or strippers or anything. And some of the waitresses weren't even that busty. In fact, what bothers me is that I'm probably not hot/thin/boob-tastic enough to work there.

Also I gave our waitress (Abbie) a big tip. Because she was hot. And she had a nice ass.

So there.
So last night I went to Hooters for the first time.

Conclusions: I liked the shirts, the girls were... well qualified for their jobs, but the shorts were a definate turn-off. It was also very 80's, which is cool. Like, they had on leg warmers. (On very nice legs I might add.) And there were just as many famalies/girls there as there were guys oogling. It's exactly what they say, tacky, but it's not like porn or anything. And the food was good. Not like spectacular or anything, but better than the stuff I usually eat up here so I was happy.

This restaurant review brought to you by the snowstorm I had to drive through to get there.

Then I went to my very first college party. OMG.
Yes, people were drinking. No, I was not one of them. Even if I had wanted to, which I didn't, the meds I'm on say in big letters on the bottle "do not drink alcoholic bevergaes while taking this medication."

So it was loud and there were a lot of people, and Ashley and I spent a lot of time trying to avoid Julia, who was obviously drunk and apparantly lonely. And for some reason wanted Ashley.

But besides her, no one got really really drunk, so it was ok. After a couple hours all the obnoxious people left and only the cool theater people were left and we spent like two hours talking about theater and things that have gone wrong on and off stage. That was fun.

I got a hug from this guy Kevin (who was a bit drunk because he doesn't even know my name, I don't think) when he left and I realized that that's the most physical male contact I've had in like over a year. Not that that matters, but it was just an intereating relization.

I met all the girls I'm going to be living with in the suite next year, and they're all really cool. I'm excited. I hope we get it.

And then we told ghost stories and freaked Ashley out, and I got invited to go bowling today, but I can't go because I'm hosting a prospective student.

So I stayed out until at least 3:00am. I am awesome.

Now I have to go clean my room so miss prospective student doesn't think I am a total slob.

Muah!
