Attention everyone! (But mostly Chad)

My brother did something to the computer and now all the icons and the mouse and all the screens and everything are all really big and we can't make them smaller. HELP!

It's possible that we're in Safe mode, because it looked like this before, but I don't know how to get out of Safe mode if we are in it, so if anyone knows how to do that...

Right-click anywhere on your desktop that isn't an icon.

On the menu that appears, click properties.

Click the tab that says "appearance".

Fiddle with the menus there. One should probably have "Large icons" selected; in that case, just change that one back to the normal theme. You should be able to figure it out from there.

ok right click your desktop (not an icon)

click properties once you do that

then click the tab appearance

go to effects on there, and unclick the box next to "uge large icons"

woops, ignore my first comment, that was wrong.

If it's just the icons that are large, then Hannah and Becky are right on.

If everything is big, not just the icons, then do the following:

A) Bring up the "Display Properties" window that Hannah and Becky described.
B) Click the "Settings" tab at the top.
C) In the lower right corner of the window, you will now see a slider labeled "Screen Area". Drag the slider one notch to the right for more screen area (which will make things smaller).
D) Click the "Apply" button and see if the results please you. If not, repeat steps C and D.
E) Click the "OK" button. Done.
