Apparently I can only remember to be thankful every other day or so...

Day 12: Gadget - Definitely laptops. The ability to be on a computer, wirelessly, anywhere, is amazing.

Day 13: Something Old - In the 5th or 6th grade, I went on a trip to The Great Escape with my BFF at the time, Amber, and her family. Her mother's boyfriend won all of us these stuffed mice, and I still have mine. His name is Binky, I've slept with him every night since I got him, and he's been all over the world with me. I am thankful both to have him, and that Andrew doesn't mind sharing the bed. :)

I'm back at school now, and man, I didn't realize how much I missed my mouse. The little pad thing on the front of my laptop just doesn't cut it.

Also, I love Hannah Loso, who came with me today. She's so cute and considerate and spazzy (in a good way).

Finally, neither of my parents could tell me what color Harry Potter eyes are. Keep in mind, they've both read all seven books. Then I kept saying "his eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad" cause I liked the way it sounded.

MY COMPUTER IS HERE AND I AM TYPING ON IT!!!

So all those who were de-friended have been re-friended and now the love can commence.

P.S. And I uploaded new icons too.
THEY SHIPPED MY COMPUTER!

*does happy dance*

This means that I'll have my pretty little laptop back in 2-3 business days, which is good because I HATE THIS FUCKING COMPUTER!

And it hates me back.

But that's ok because THEY SHIPPED MY COMPUTER!
Ok kids, what's going on for New Year's Eve?

SOMEBODY CALL ME!

P.S. If anyone noticed that I de-friended them recently, please don't be offended. It's only because of this dumb-ass computer that won't let me look at certain journals without saying "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." This is nothing personal, and it's only temporary. As soon as I get my laptop back (in 3-5 business days) I will re-friend all those who have been de-friended.

Love to all!
Somebody stepped on my laptop, and now the screen is broken, and so until it gets fixed I have to use the big computer which HATES ME and whenever I go on livejournal tells me I've performed an illegal operation and shuts it down, so the moral of the story is I hate this computer back and I'll try my best to read people's journals.

In other news, I love Anna, Kristen, and Kelli today. We went to lunch.

And now, dinner!
1. Thank you everyone who responded to my plea for help in the icon shrinkage department, but when I got home from dinner Eric had made everything its proper size again. I don't know how, but that's not important. It's nice to know that you are all there for me though.

2. Heather made me dinner (Macaroni and Cheese and salad) and I hung out at her apartment with her, Emalee, Rachel, Dave, Kat, DJ, Jen, and Travis. All of the aforementioned are totally awesome people, except Jen who I did not like. She was just bitchy. Maybe she'd had a bad day? I dunno. We watched Baby Boom. Very very funny. Mmmmmmmmmm yup.

By the way, Heather, Travis is jacked. But I don't like his hair. But he's funny and he's adorable in that "I'm not scared of you crazy people, exactly, but wow." kind of way. And he teases you. Which means he likes you. Oh, and Dave is a winner because of his awesome Varitek shirt, complete with the little C for Captain. He seemed to hug you a lot. WTF?

3. I went grocery shopping with my mother today, and I laughed insanely at the bananas.(Accio Bananas!) Then I totally lost it because she bought Fresh Young Chicken. (I explained about the chicken, but not about the bananas.)

4. Do you guys ever listen to a song just to hear one line? Like you don't really care about the rest of the song, but one line just stands out to you? I do that. "Have a child for warmth, and a baker for bread, and a prince for...whenever."

5. James Spader makes my life.
Shirley: "Who among us could watch the presidential debates and deny that we came from monkeys?"

6. I haven't been this scared in a long time.

7. STELLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Attention everyone! (But mostly Chad)

My brother did something to the computer and now all the icons and the mouse and all the screens and everything are all really big and we can't make them smaller. HELP!

It's possible that we're in Safe mode, because it looked like this before, but I don't know how to get out of Safe mode if we are in it, so if anyone knows how to do that...

Thank you!
I discovered some things tonight.

1. I crave people the same way I crave chocolate. I have days where I just, like, INTENSELY need to see/talk to one particular person. For the past few days I have been craving Erin. ERIN I NEED YOU! Heh.

2. I like taking pictures, and then seeing how they come out, because they never look the way you think they're going to. I think I kind of want to take pictures. Artistic pictures. I have these pictures that I just, am so proud of, because they're just cool. (Yeah, I'm weird. And rambling.)

3. Getting good comments on the fic I waited an entire year to post over at the Remus/Sirius community is one of the best feelings in the world. And it's addicting. I can't wait to post again.

4. You can't install Microsoft Word unless you install Works first.

5. My laptop does not have a floppy disk drive, which puts me back to having no way to transfer my files and pics from this computer to that one.

6. I don't like having French toast for dinner. (Actually, I don't really like French toast all that much at any time, but I already knew that.)

Isn't learning fun?

Current Mood:

Hey!

Ok.

So who wants to hear the computer story? I know you all do. It's funny.

My laptop was supposed to arrive yesterday. It was being shipped from Taiwan, or somewhere near there. The Far East anyways. It was being shipped by FedEx, and it is a Gateway computer. It did not arrive yesterday.

There's this thing online where you can track your packages. So my mother went on last night to see where my computer was, because it was not at our house. The site said my computer was in Tennessee. Why Tennessee? No one knows.

My mom couldn't call the Gateway people last night, so she called them this morning. They informed her that the computer had been mislabled with the wrong address and was being shipped back to Gateway. There it would be dismantled, because that's what Gateway does with computers that go to the wrong places. Why do they do this? No one knows.

So Gateway told Mom that they'd order us a new computer, but it would take another two weeks to get here. By that time, I will already be in college. NOT COOL.

Now, my mom told me all this around Noon today. Then we got in a huge fight (because that's what my family does when we are stressed) about something that I don't even remember what it was now, but it involved my mom not speaking to me, and me being glad about that.

However, I am never one to let things like that lie. So after I calmed down a bit, Mom and I hashed out our issues and made up the way famalies who are really fighting because the world is full of IDIOTS WHO LOSE COMPUTERS AND THEN TAKE THE A-FUCKING-PART do.

I went back upstairs, to resume cleaning my bookshelf. I was up there maybe ten minutes, (that's ten minutes after we finish fighting and discussing how stupid FedEx and Gateway are, and maybe four hours after Mom was told the computer was nowhere to be found) when I heard the dog barking.

In our driveway was a FedEx truck. In the truck was my laptop, which is now sitting quite peacefully in the other room, all in one piece, unharmed, and nowhere near Tenessee.

Why does Gateway think the computer is lost? What will happen to the second computer Gateway ordered, at no charge to us? No one knows.

What's the moral of the story? Hewlett Packard.

P.S. I told Mom we should sue Gateway for emotional distress, and she didn't seem to think that was such a bad idea.
