So now that I have see Once on This Island twice, I can post some thoughts about it.

I liked and disliked a lot of little things about it, but overall I enjoyed watching it, and it was very well done.

As per usual, the preceeding was only my opinions, not solid facts, and your mileage may vary.
I hate KnightVision. (The program that we use to register for classes.)

It took me a full hour to register for my classes this morning. It should have taken me less than five minutes. Fucking KnightVision.

Also, I spent this weekend watching Man of La Mancha at Castleton and Fiddler on the Roof at the Flynn. And honestly, Castleton's show was better. They just have this intensity that I rarely see anywhere else. And Kevin? Oh, I heart Kevin. And Julian. And of course, HEATHER THE HORSE! Awwww... She was so good. (Also, Heather Barnes was a donkey. Again. I almost died giggling at that.)

Moral of the story: Castelton rocks, and Lyric theater was just meh. (AND I LOVE MY CASTLETON PEEPS!)

In other news, I have about 5 different projects that I need to get done before THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! WOOOOO! DEER CAMP IN A WEEK AND 2 DAYS!!!!!!!

So I'm gonna go get started on that!
So I was reading my Psych textbook's chapter on altered states of conciousness, and the last section was about psychoactive drugs.

And as I was reading it, I realized that it was the first and only time I've ever seen an objective view of drugs, with both the benefits and detriments just presented, without a strong "Don't do drugs kids!" message to it.

Now, as I read, it became abundantly clear that the bad points of drugs far outweigh the good ones, and you should therefore not do drugs, and I really think that's a bit more of an effective way to put me off crack.

Yeah.

Anywho, I went to see The Crucible at Castleton and OMG.

You know, I keep going to see things at Castleton, and they keep being fucking amazing. How do they do that?

I mean, I love The Crucible anyways, and I love the Salem Witch Trials and all that jazz, and I knew some of the people in it, but it was just so freaking well done! The emotion and the subtle red in the costumes and the giant American flag and the juxtaposition of scenes and the yelling coupled with that extremely powerful script and just GAH.

And I know Dave is an asshole, but that doesn't make him any less attractive. And Damn, he played John Proctor well.

Yeah, so, that's that. It was phenominal and Abby is waiting for me, so peace!
Saw Heather's play tonight. I think I'm now officially a Tennessee Williams buff. God it was sad. Good, but sad.

"The show is over. The monkey is dead." I don't know if that was supposed to be funny the first time, but I laughed. The second time, definately not. Shawn shot my pregnant cousin!

I don't want to go back to school. Don't make me!

They showed this clip on SNL of Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase when Pryor was on the show. They're like doing word association and all Chevy's words are black slurs, and all Pryor's are white slurs, and finally they get to:
Chevy: Nigger.
Pryor: Dead honky.

I am very easily amused.

I came out as a slasher to my mom, and I'm not really sure how she took it. She's been irritable all day. But she didn't really seem to care too much, so I bet it's ok.

I feel like I've wasted this whole vacation. I didn't DO anything. (Not that I actually had anything to do, but still.) I didn't even practice my clarinet once all week.

Oh well, there are worse things I suppose. Like having to tell JVL* that I'm not going to be here this weekend because of the band trip.

Oh, and if you are in a horror movie and you have sex, you will die. No matter how bad the CGI is.

*JVL = John van Luling. I'm stage managing his senior seminar.
OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Here goes nothing:

Yea verily, I say unto you, people of Livejournal Land, that on the Satur Day, Queen Mary and Queen Rose, did travel a great distance with the ladies Heather the Fair, Emalee of Rutland, and Becky, Princess of Music. There they did meet up with Lady Megan and did sally forth in search of sustance.

This sustance was found at a place where time is warped, and thusly it is always the Fri Day.

Afterwards, the group did seek out an entertainment worthy of their noble blood, which they did find at Yoo Veee Em. There they witnessed a spectacular show full of drugs, sex, and hair.

Following this delight, Heather the Fair, Emalee of Rutland, and Becky, Princess of Music did retire to the humble abode of Lady Megan. There they indulged in music, food, and warm conversation. And Lady Megan did say that it was good.

On the Day of Sun, these ladies four were joined by Abigail the Lyon, and they did go to see Harry Potter and his Goblet of Fire. (AND IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING AND I DON'T REALLY MIND ALL THE THINGS THEY LEFT OUT/CHANGED, BUT ALL THE SAME I'M GLAD I'VE READ THE BOOK CAuSE IT JUST MAKES MORE SENSE THAT WAY.)

And thus was the End of the Week made wonderful.

P.S. LIPS OF DOOM! "I will eat your face!!!!!!!!"

I did my best BeckyLove.

P.P.S. Hair was amazing, but I liked Castelton's version better. This one just seemed really over-choreographed. Still an awe-inspiring story though. And now I have it on my computer. *SQUEE*

P.P.P.S. Harry Potter was definately worth the $7.25 ticket. If just to see Neville dancing with himsself, Malfoy become a ferret, and Ron's face when he has to dance with McGonagall.
May I just begin by saying that I heart Castleton theater productions, (all the ones I've seen) and all the actors and actresses therein? (And crew people too.) Of course I may, this is my journal.

Translation: Cabaret = awesome. (I can now go to my grave having seen Shawn Dayton dance around as a girl in lingere...)

I also saw A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum at the Flynn today. It was superbly done, but the version I saw in Elmira was funnier.

Oh, yes, and Heather, he's cute. You have the Megan Denardo seal of approval.

On the more boring/mundane side of life, I love my mommy because she is awesome. And she bought me new boots. And took me to Sweetwaters. Mmmmmmmm... Yay Mom!

Also, I heart Hannahmylove.

Peace!

I went to see Heather's play today (SIDE NOTE: I did not know Heather was even in a play until Emalee called me at noon and was like "Wanna go see Heather's play at two?") and it was a very good and very funny play. Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. The same ugly dress, I might add. There were some good lines...

It's like the bland leading the bland...

I am a Christian woman!

What on Earth goes through a man's head while he's fucking his fiancee's 13 year old sister?

Here's to drunken sex in public places!

(Forgive me if these aren't quite right...)

Then Em and I went to see A Lot Like Love and awwwwwwwww it was teh sweetest. I like Ashton Kutcher, and I refuse to be ashamed of that. He's not such a bad actor, really, and as they said in the movie "You're not...unattractive..." Ohh ohh ohh and my song was in the movie! *Squee* I even know the title now! Yippiee!

Oliver, you've been robbed.

Shhhh. Don't. You'll ruin it.

Today I love Breathe(2am) by Anna Nalick because it's my song

Today I hate Bernie Mac
