Lies and falsehoods, Padfoot!

So, we started watching Turn, because I was interested in it, and then amyofaquitaine said it was good (and she has excellent taste) and now I'm hooked. I've only seen the first three episodes, because of course it premiered during my big move/apartment hunt/new job, so I couldn't watch it, but then AMC showed all the episodes on Memorial Day and we DVR-ed them so I can catch up.

So far, I think Ben is the prettiest, I kind of ship him with Caleb, and I LOVE Caleb. OMG, he's just so amusing and unapologetic and brave and honorable and he sang Spanish Ladies and I want to squish him. I also went on Wikipedia and looked up all the main characters to see if they were going to survive this mess (especially my precious Caleb) or not, because that's just how I roll. I don't know any show spoilers though (let's please keep it that way, too) and since they're already playing a little loose with the facts, who knows what will happen?

My biggest question so far, however, is what the hell is so special about Anna that everyone on this show wants to bang her? Abe, Simcoe, Selah (the only one who should be doing so) and even kind of Caleb. She's pretty, I guess, and brave to be running a tavern alone and spying and stuff, and she sure doesn't put up with Caleb's crap, but I'm just not on the Anna wagon. I feel like the show is pushing her hard as the strong female lead, but hasn't really let her do anything remarkable. I am presently team Mary, because I feel very bad for her and I just KNOW she's going to get a shit deal. That's the only way this can possibly play out. I have probably said, "poor Mary" about a dozen times in three episodes.

On the other hand, these two are clearly in love. <3

My chem class was cancelled today, which was nice... BUT I WANT TO KNOW MY GRADE ON THE TEST DAMN IT!!! I bet he just cancelled class cause he didn't have the tests graded and he didn't want to face the wrath of 100 irate Chem students at 9:30 in the morning...

And ummm...I can't find my belts and my neck hurts and it's making funny noises... and that's probably not good, is it?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh man. I didn't even cheat on that first one... it really is my OTP... but Draco/Pansy? I've never even read a Draco/Pansy story... Though I suppose it's technically semi-canon... Though I don't really like Pansy... Whatever. It made me laugh. (Mostly cause at the top of the quiz it said "Regardless of whether or not J.K. Rowling chooses to write it, when you put several hundred teenagers in the same building for nine months straight, there's going to be a certain amount of nookie being gotten. The question is, by whom?")

Who can deny that? Thus, we have the basis for fanfic.

You know there's something wrong with your mind when you misread "exotic metal bangles" as "erotic metal bangles" and immediately picture big metal bracelets with pictures of naked women in scandalous poses on them.

Remind me to be careful if I try to eat while re-reading Harry Potter books...

In other dorky news, my Bio professor played us this song today called "We Come from Monkeys." He really reminds me of Mr. Hooker.

Then in Intro to Theater we were talking about how the young boys in Elizabethian theater played the female parts and were 'apprentices' and I was like "STOP IT BRAIN. NOT LIKE THAT."

Only it probably was exactly like that.


This is what happens when I read slash in the middle of the week. Heh.

So while my parents had a big fancy party last night, I spent the night at Kelli's. We watched Wimbledon, which rocks sooooooo hardcore and has Paul Bettany in it, and Lord of the Rings #1.

I tried my very hardest to stay awake through Lord of the Rings, but I fell asleep right around the part where they decide not to continue over the huge icy mountain and go through the Mines of Moria instead. But I have seen that part once before, where Gandolf dies and such.

I woke up in time to see...umm damn what's his name again? Balthasar...no....Boromir? Yeah, sure, Boromir get killed, and stayed awake till the end.

Now, I may have mentioned this before, but this time I saw it throughout most of the movie and not just in one scene. SAM WANTS FRODO! In a very dirty way. I am serious. It's not even deniable. The way he looks at him....

And it's what they don't say, but COULD say that makes me think this way. Some examples:

I swear, Slash has taken over my brain. I seriously thought they were going to snog, right there on the mountain, and I am firmly convinced that the only reason they didn't is because Frodo doesn't get it. Stupid ponce.

Oh, yes, and what is this "Mr. Frodo" business? Does he have a Dom/Sub fetish too? I bet he does.

Which reminds me, DOM IS HOT! GO MERRY! (I mean Dominic Monawhatisname, who's nickname is Dom. Dom/Sub, Dom, get it? Nevermind.)
