I just saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Flynn.

A brief (spoilery) review of my thoughts:

-It took me a bit to get into it. But it took me a bit to get into Spring Awakening too, and we all know where that went. I started really feeling DRS right around the song about putting a chimp in a suit.

-I'm in love with the song about Oklahoma. (Not a tree or a Jew, to ruin the view...)

-I really, really, REALLY liked the French guy. He was seriously the best part. And the funniest part. And I liked how he did get with the girl.

-I thought I didn't know anything about this musical, but I forgot that Janeea totally told me that the girl was playing them both. I remembered that I knew that partway through Act 2, and I liked it. A lot.

-The girl that played Christine was a bit too nasaly for my taste.

-There were definite Phantom moments. :)

-The set was very sparkly. I approved.

-I can has soundtrack now plz?

I haven't updated in a while, despite wanting to, because I have been studying Organic Chemistry like a FIEND. However, I just took the test (and it was AWFUL) so now I can do other things with my life.

Anyways, we all got dressed up and went to the Rugby Ball on Saturday, and I just have to say two things:

1. The Echo Center is so cool. And dancing in heels and a pretty dress amongst turtles and fishes made my life complete. Dude, it was awesome. That is the way to have a dance. If I'd had my way, I wouldn't have gone down to the dance floor (to be pushed around and elbowed out of the way by drunks) but stayed dancing upstairs with the frogs. It's not like you can't hear the music up there.

2. Boys have been going to dances since oh... about 5th grade. And they still look just as awkward and uncomfortable in their stiff button-up shirts and ties now, as they did then.

I did have a good time though. And I looked good. And Abby did my hair, and I danced provocatively with Nora, and it was fun. The music wasn't horrendous, and the people were... less drunk than usual.

Oh, and Abby and Phil and I saw Chicago at the Flynn yesterday. I really liked it (especially the glitter confetti), but BILLY FLYNN DID NOT TAP DANCE!! (These are my CAPSLOCK of rage and disappointment.) He was smarmy and fantastic, but I waited the entire show to see him tap dance, and he never did. :(  Also, Roxie looked like Liza Minelli from Cabaret. No, seriously. But I really did enjoy it.

Ok, that's all for the unexciting update on my life. I shall leave you with an Abby quote: "Sadly, I cannot do the tomato soup dance while carrying tomato soup."

I hate KnightVision. (The program that we use to register for classes.)

It took me a full hour to register for my classes this morning. It should have taken me less than five minutes. Fucking KnightVision.

Also, I spent this weekend watching Man of La Mancha at Castleton and Fiddler on the Roof at the Flynn. And honestly, Castleton's show was better. They just have this intensity that I rarely see anywhere else. And Kevin? Oh, I heart Kevin. And Julian. And of course, HEATHER THE HORSE! Awwww... She was so good. (Also, Heather Barnes was a donkey. Again. I almost died giggling at that.)

Moral of the story: Castelton rocks, and Lyric theater was just meh. (AND I LOVE MY CASTLETON PEEPS!)

In other news, I have about 5 different projects that I need to get done before THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! WOOOOO! DEER CAMP IN A WEEK AND 2 DAYS!!!!!!!

So I'm gonna go get started on that!
