HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] letsgokomets!!! As a birthday present, and as mentioned on your LJ, here are my answers to the letter meme that I agreed to do... In January. Oh well, better late than never.

Comment saying you want a letter, and then after I give you one, write about ten things you like which start with that letter.

I was given the letter H! )

Answer to last Monday's song: Because of You, by 98 Degrees. Appropriately enough, [livejournal.com profile] letsgokomets got this one right!
Yet another meme skanked form [profile] siriusly_sex.

Pick a character and I will answer the following:
1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance or platonic)
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Fandoms are Fullmetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Star Wars, and primarily Harry Potter. (That is, I'm most into Harry Potter fandom on the internet.)

ETA: As pointed out by [profile] siriusly_sex, I'm in Firefly fandom too.

Points for obscure-ish characters. (But not TOO obscure. I have to be able to answer the questions, after all.)
Just so you all know, it's National Gorilla Suit Day. I wonder if Peterson wore his.

Ever since I woke up this morning, for no reason at all, I've felt depressed and like I just wanted to be by myself listening to loud angry music. And I don't know why. So after I was done with class I went to Staples and Coconuts, just to be out and alone, and I bought myself a new Fullmetal Alchemist DVD.

After watching two episodes, I am all better. It's just such a fantastic show, and it makes me laugh, and I love pretty much every single one of the characters, and the booklet inside gave me the names of all Roy's subordinates, and I just feel so much better now.

ETA: Some FMA quotes that are just too good not to post.

Hughes: Hey, I've got a message from Roy. He said, "Don't die under my command, you're enough of a pain without the paperwork." That was it.
Ed: Tell him fine, there's no way I'm dying before you do, you morally bankrupt Colonel with a God complex.

If the great Edward can’t use his alchemy, he’s just a useless teen with a grumpy-ass attitude. (And that is the truth.)

I have finally seen the Fullmetal Alchemist movie.

In conclusion, I liked it. Roy is love, Riza is love, Ed and Al are awesome, and Winry Rockbell is my hero. Though I still think Ed should treat her better. Ah well, can't have everything.
... So, I never got to see The Other Brothers Elric: Part II until like, half an hour ago.

I would now like to take this moment to announce my love for Fletcher Nash. Cause he's just so damn cute!

Of course, this brings the list of Fullmetal Alchemist characters that I love up into the hundreds at least. Top of this list are (in no particular order) Roy, Riza, Ed, Al, Nash, Lust, Winry, and Havoc. But there are more. Oh, so many more.

I am such a geek.
The following is really just for my future reference, and is in no way a request for the items listed below. I decided to put it in my LJ because this way I won't lose it.

What Megan Wants for Christmas:
-The Inuyasha and/or FMA calendars I saw in Borders today
-Chocolate Frogs
-The rest of the FMA DVD's that I don't own
-Music and Lyrics (movie and/or soundtrack)
-Maroon 5's new cd
-Hannah Montana Soundtrack
-Little Mermaid Sweatshirt
-The Scorpion King
-Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer
-Georgia Nicholson book #6
-Two tickets to see TLM on Broadway. Seriously, I'm thinking of just asking mom to have all the relatives contribute money to this instead of buying me Christmas presents. Because I REALLY want to go, and it's too expensive for just my mom to do.
You know what? I like Jennifer Lopez. And I like Avril Lavigne. I like songs by Toby Keith, but he's kind of an asshole. I don't like Vince Vaughn. I don't ever want to see Anchorman, because I'm not overly find of Will Ferrell. I like the Owen brothers. I like Hayden Christensen. I like Claire Danes. I don't like Fergie. I love Fullmetal Alchemist and Inuyasha. I don't find Sarah Silverman particularly funny. There's lots of stuff/people I like and don't like.

But mostly, I hate feeling like I have to apologize for these opinions.
I just watched the last episode of Fullmetal Alchemist, and besides it being totally awesome, I just have to say that I really, REALLY love Roy and Riza.

"Shut up and eat."

YAY FOR MILITARY LOVE!
Edward Elric uses chemistry for the win.
You know, Ed gets knocked unconscious with surprising frequency.

One of these days he's going to wake up in a coma.
Actually, my last post lied. I have some more to say about Fullmetal Alchemist.

Well... It's sort of more general than that, but it's rooted in FMA.

You know what the difference between good characterization and REALLY AWESOME characterization is? Little details. Little details that are totally irrelevant to the plot, but flesh out the character in fun ways. For instance, Edward Elric does not like milk. Does this matter in his quest for the Philosopher's Stone? No. Does it make me want to hug him? Yes.

Also, I like the women in FMA. They're full characters, they don't need protection, and they KICK ASS. Winry, Pinako, Riza, Izumi, Ross, Psiren, Lust, Sloth, they're all awesome. Even the evil ones.
WINRY ROCKBELL WINS AT LIFE.

That is all.
Another "just for the record" statement:

Maes Hughes and Roy Mustang are totally doing it.

Siriusly.

Yes, I know Hughes is married. Doesn't matter.
