Just so everyone knows, I am going to ACTF (The American College Theater Festival) tomorrow, and will not be back until Sunday.

I may or may not have internet and/or the time to use it at the hotel, so don't expect my presence in the next six days to be... present.

See you Sunday!

COME SEE PETER PAN!!!

May 2nd at 7:00, and May 3rd at 2:00 and 7:00.

Saint Michael's College Main Stage

FREE

Seriously though, if you can, you should come. It's going to be amazing. We have flying effects and everything!

Random facts about Drama Club members:

-I'm the only brown person here. - A clearly Indian freshman boy.
-I laugh like Spongebob. - Danella
-I have a twin brother. You can tell us apart because I'm significantly... broader than Kevin. Hopefully he won't come back from Ireland with a fake Irish accent, but no promises. - Andrew
-I'm a theater major, exclusively, which means that I'll be living in a cardboard box. - Michelle, Melissa, Kyla, Jenn, and more.
-I am the only gay guy on campus to get aother gay roommate, and we have a great time. Not like that! Get your mind out of the gutter! We just share clothes. - Josh
-I'm an English major, which means that I won't be living in a cardboard box. I'll be marrying rich. - Abby
-I'm going to be the rich man that Abby marries, and I'm providing everyone with cardboard boxes! - Zach Pratt
-I'm in denial about being a senior. If anyone asks, I'm a junior part two. - Emily
-I have no idea what I'm doing with my life. - Tina.
-I'm from Alabama. - Kyle
-I'm a Biology major. I don't know what the hell I'm doing here. - Shawn
-I cheered when Shawn said he was a Bio major, because I'm one too, and there are very few in the theater department. - Me
-Was I supposed to be all bubbly and happy? - Ashley

Those are all the ones Emily, Ashley, and I can remember. But in other news, The Macarena is a techie trying to find a pencil. Ha!
Ok, so this isn't really going to be funny to you guys, cause you don't know who John Devlin is, but I want to remember this quote and it's my journal, so deal.

Well, alright, this may help, but you really need to know his personality/reputation for it to be as hilarious as it is... John is the guy in charge of tech here at St. Mikes. He's like Ron, only he's really really smart and cool and awesome, and Ron is not. They just have similar jobs. Only John actually knows how to do his. ANYWAY.

Joe: John is the bearded one, yes?
Someone: Yes.
Joe: I saw him once carrying some two-by-fours. In the rain. And two squirrels were following him. They thought he was Noah.

Oh, how we laughed.
It is now officially November, the month of Sesshomaru and plays. (By which I mean that Sesshomaru is on my Inuyasha calendar, and I'm going to see/be in a ton of plays this month.)

Let's see... I'm going to see Cat's Paw (the main stage this semester) tomorrow night, then Mom and I are going to see Man of La Mancha and Fiddler on the Roof next weekend, then the Monty Python show goes up the weekend after that... Oh, and then the Saturday after Thanksgiving we're going to see The Logger.

See? Plays. Lots of them.

This is also the month of Thanksgiving, and we all know what that means... DEER CAMP. WOOT!

And turkey, and other food, and family, and all that junk. :)

P.S. I got a 98 on my Chem test. I am SO AWESOME.

Groovy.

I sat down with JvL and the cast of Commedia last night to watch Army of Darkness.

I don't think I've ever seen anything that was simultaneously as bad, disturbing, and hilarious.

Ever.

Has anyone else seen this movie? It's... Well, I'm not sure there's a word for it.

And I don't know how Bruce Campbell says those lines with a straight face.

Only, he played the prince of thieves guy on Hercules and Xena, so I suppose he has practice.

Click here to adopt your own little monster!

Oh what the hell. I want one too.

I went to a pirate party last night. For which I dressed up as a sexy, sexy pirate, and drank root beer rum dammit!

We also watched Muppet Treasure Island, which movie I love with all my weasley little black piratey guts.

Reason number 34985734875639856 to love theater people: It was a sing-a-long. Because we're just that awesome. Also, WE DRESSED UP AS PIRATES. Kirsten made her own coat. And it KICKED ASS.

Yup.
I. Am. Awesome.

I called my first college show tonight, after successfully stage managing for the past couple of months, and I. Kicked. Serious. Ass. My light lady (Kate) and my sound guy (Mike) and my actors were all phenominal.

And even though he confused the hell out of me and made me mess up on labeling all my light and sound cues, I still like JvL, director extrodinaire. Cause he thanked me and told me I did a great job. Yay!

We started doing tech runs this afternoon at 12. No joke. And this evening at 7, we rocked. Hardcore.

It's better than sex. This satisfaction. Oh yeah.
Benefits of being involved in the SMC theater department:

1. "Rehearsals" which consist of going downtown, taking pictures, making fun of seagulls, making out with stone bears, riding stone deer, taking over the world, molesting the leapfrog statue, and spending two hours in Dorba Tea talking and drinking tea.

2. Free tea and Jerusalem pitas. (Both Dobra Tea and the pitas come highly recommended, I might add.) They were free because JvL bought them and can write them off as a 'business expense' of our 'rehesarsal' so the drama club ends up paying. Nice to know I'm making good use of the tuition I'm not actually paying...

3. Free tickets to see Jekyll and Hyde (NOT THE MUSICAL, just a play) which would have been $27 otherwise. Not to mention getting in on the fact that this play was being put on tonight, which I didn't know until this afternoon, and it was SO GOOD!

4. Having the opportunity to hang out basically all day with totally awesome people.

5. With whom you can discuss such varied topics as Harry Potter, Lifehouse, dragons, the drama of drama, and Jack the Ripper.

6. Being invited to go out places instead of sitting alone in my room all the time.

Ahhhhh. It was SUCH a good day.
Saw Comedy of Errors last night... There were some minor things that I didn't like, but overall it was amazing and hilarious. And the things I didn't like were really based on me personally, and not so much the show (because it was very well acted and choreographed and the set was cool.)

Tonight there's a decade dance... What did hippies wear on their feet? And that's the 60's right? God I'm bad at this.

Then this weekend is parents' weekend, so it's going to be busy... And yet I'm not doing my homework now while I have time. Heh.

I really don't have anything of substance to put in here, I just wanted to update.

Hey! I'm writing a play for my Intro to Lit class... It's wicked short, but would you guys like to read it?
This is going to be very disjointed. Please bear with me. I'm just typing whatever comes into my head.

Here's a thought: Harry's birthday is in July. Assuming Lily had a nine month pregnancy, and having no evidence to the contrary we'll assume that, that puts his conception in October. It's October, and my mind is dirty. If I could I'd write that fic. And it would be absolutely amazingly romantic and hot.

I almost died of the squee today because I went to the Drama Club meeting and the President couldn't get onto the stage, and one guy threw "get thee to a nunnery" into the staged reading, and there was a techie with a screw gun building the set in the background and they had to talk over the noise and they call the faculty by their first names, and it was just perfect.

In Great Russians all 11 of us (two were missing) sat as close as possible to each other at the end of the oval table farthest from the Crazy Russian Woman. It was fucking great. I love messing with teachers.

I sacrificed a pink high-lighter to Alex's soon-to-be-glowing margarita man. Rest In Peace, pink high-lighter.

My Amazon story sucks. I hate my inability to write what I want.

Abby and I watched Chicken Run. She had never seen it before. It was quite the experience.

Cinzia's home for the weekend and I'm scared to sleep in here alone. I am pathetic.

I have exactly no friends who are both male and straight. Not that I mind, but how did that happen?

This entry sounds really bitter now as well as disjointed. Fuck.

I'm glad Vanessa had a good day.

Erin is always on ridiculously late on school nights, but not on the weekends when I need her want to terrorize her. WTF? (I LOVE ERIN and I am grateful for everything she does.)

Lalalalalalalalala.

I still haven't read Jess's story. Or Hannah's. *Is guilty* I will guys, I promise.

I'm avoinding going to sleep right now. I don't really know why.

They guy on Nip/Tuck was cutting himself with this huge fucking steak knife. THAT IS NOT COOL. I told him it wasn't cool, but he didn't listen.

I said the Fuck word a lot in this entry.

And why do I capitolize it?

I don't know why I'm cutting this. In case you don't want to read it I guess. But I wish you would.

Cut for Angst and other Emotions I hate )

I promise that I don't spend all day obsessing over that. I don't even usually think about him except at night, and that's just a habit that won't die. It's 2:15am and I get weird when I stay up.

All the same it's a really good poem and I wish he could see it.
OH MY GOOD GIDDY FUCKING GOD DO YOU KNOW WHAT PLAY THEY'RE HAVING AUDITONS FOR IN DECEMBER BECAUSE IT IS THE SPRING SHOW???!!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!????!?!!!!?!?!?!?!?!!???!!!?

COMEDY OF ERRORS!

I was like HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I bet I still remember some of my lines from that!

Yeah. I'm auditioning. You can't stop me.

True Story.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Really I don't know why I'm so excited. It's not like it's my favorite show, or that I wanted to do it again or anything. It's just nice cause I've done it before and so I can kick ass at auditions.)
Is it weird that I love how windy and grey it is outside? It's like four different shades of grey all at once. I didn't even know that was possible. And I heart wind.

And I totally whipped out my Lara Croft Skills today and caught my cup as it was falling off my tray and before it crashed to the floor. Go me!

Hey, all you people who went to see Into the Woods with me...I MET JACK! HA! (His real name is Kevin.) And I also met Jack's Mother (Jennifer, she's awesome) Little Red Riding Hood (Kayla) and the Baker (Mike). I saw the wolf and one of the princes but did not actually meet them. Kevin and Jennifer are very nice, and Kevin was incredibly pleased to hear that my friends liked him. :)

Yeah, so I went to the theater "picnic" (only it was inside because of the rain) and met all the cool theater kids and signed up for the 24 hour play thing. I am excited. They all introduced themselves and were super friendly and nice. Theater people rock. I felt so...wanted. Yay theater!

But I found out that as a Bio major I'm supposed to be taking Chem right now, and I'm not. Boo!

Peace and Love!

So I took Ari, Hannah, Kristen, and Renee to see Into the Woods today. It was quite good. The play itself is pretty good, but these people at St. Mike's that did it were phenominal.

The only thing that bugs me is what happened to the Baker's Wife in act 2. I didn't like how she was used by the prince and then she died. That wasn't fair. I'm also being haunted by the suspicion that I don't really get the point of the whole thing, so if anyone has any insights...

Besides that I really liked Little Red Riding Hood, and the Witch, and the Baker was cute. Hee hee hee.

Then we all went to dinner at Sweetwaters, which was also phenominal, and then home. And we tortured my poor mother all the way there and back with our crazy music and bad singing. Ha ha ha.

So I had a good day.

"I was trained to be chaming, not sincere!" So true.

Today I love The Calling, because I remembered who they are

Today I hate giants
